History:
Love is a mysterious thing. Why Egan Roseblack, an El Aurian who has seen 5 centuries of life, and Lenika Vostrikova, an 18 year old girl barely out of school, should marry is a mystery Egan has been silent about. All that their three children know is the couple loved each other deeply despite the disparity of age between them and the near certainty that he would outlive his bride, and quite possibly their children as well. However, neither cared. Such details were inconsequential in the face of True Love.

Lenika died at the age of 45 in a tragic shuttle accident while on a trip to Risa in 2363, along with 23 year old Katarina.

As for Raven, she led a relatively adventurous life. She started out her spacing days serving in the company her father had started, owned, and ran. The Omicron Deep Space Salvage Company was founded in the early 2200's by Egan and a circle of associates, all now deceased, for obvious reasons. The company has seen her shares of highs and lows in the dubious business of interstellar 'tow truck nand wrecker' service, and Raven becan her career as a deck hand, one of the hundreds of bottom rung individuals who actuall do all of the hard labor. Much like the enlisted ratings within Starfleet.

Being a hybrid, Raven and her siblings never knew exactly what form of lineage their aging factors would take. By their late 20's however, they all knew who had been blessed and who hadn't. Raven didn't look a day over 20 when she hit her 30th birthday. However, Raven also bore the markings of her mother - an adventurous streak that was nearly insatiable. Already a well respected officer within the ranks of the DSSC fleet branch, the 'young' woman took her leave of the company and joined up with Starfleet.

And not a moment too soon, it apeared. Tensions were growing with the Gamma quadrant mega power, the Dominion, and while serving her tour onboard the USS Dauntless hostilities finally broke out. Originally an aging Miranda Class starship, the Dauntless held her own in a number of engagements. Much credit was given both to the helmsmen and tactical officers manning the bridge, but the engineering department wasn't forgotten. No starship can dodge every shot fired at her, and the engineering and operations crew of the Dauntless held her together through thick and thin. In 2382, the USS Dauntless finally went down under fire, and the crew were imediately shuffled onboard a brand new Galaxy class starship. At first they thought it was a joke. It was a switch Raven wasn't prepared for.

At first posting, Raven had retained her position within the Engineering department. Her organizational skills soon came to light and the Dauntless' Chief Ops requested her transfer into his department. Initially there on a trial run, she performed well enough (Ie better than as an engineer) and the swap was made official. During the battle in which the Dauntless finally fell the Chief Ops died, as did 85% of the Ops department. Being made Chief of operations was bad enough, having to switch to a completly different, and technologicaly NEW design made it even more of a nightmare. Especaily because the Galaxy class was a much bigger ship to run.

Raven held it together, it was her job. Rushing through things wasn't her nature in the least, given her life expectancy of at least two centuries. Still, she handled her new department well. With the upgrade in class came an influx of new personnel not related to replacing battle losses. Ranks across the board were low; Raven had only three other Lieutenants in her department and she held seniority above them all.

After two years in her new ship, new position, and new rank, Raven received the message she hoped would never come. Transfer orders. This was the part of Starfleet she hated, moving. You got to know friends, many people made families (especially on the family friendly Galaxy class,) and you and your department slipped into a comfortable groove. Now that would all have to be redone.

Personality:
Raven enjoys the company of cats and birds, Classical music, and intelectual pursuits. Though not overly fond of them, Raven is familiar with a variety of combat forms and can defend herself when required. She is *NOT* a pacifist by any stretch of words.

Hard working and fun loving, Raven suffers the strongest in intimate experiences (or anything even coming close.) While not an overly shy individual, her skills at romance and the like have suffered with her entry into the spacers arena. She strives in most things for perfection, even though she recognizes it is an impossible task. "It's still worth pushing yourself to become better, than accepting the status quo and stagnating." This has led to long hours on the job, late nights pouring over reports, projects, and helping out engineers with various tasks, and little room for social recreation. When this was related to her, Raven simply shrugged it off. With possibly three or more 'lifetimes' to look forward too, she figured that there would eventually come a time when she would get around to it.

Raven takes no bull from anyone. Period. Doesn't matter the department, rank, or position. This is especailly prevalent in the workplace, and the Dauntless crew came to running informal betting pools on how long it would take for a new crewperson or officer to incur "The Chief's" wrath.

Special Notes: As a half-El Aurian, Raven has inherited her father's racial lifespan, but to what degree remains to be seen. As such she is a forward thinker and backwards planner.
