Home Planet: Betazed
Age: Born 2346 (37 yrs)
Height: 5’ 1”
Weight: 112 lbs
Hair-color: Red
Eye color: Violet
Complexion: Medium
Physical Description:
Violet is a petite woman. Her startling violet eyes are a result of
her unique genetic makeup as are her missing vocal cords. She wears
a voice synthesizer imbedded in her neck so that she can speak. The
technology is such that it sounds quite ‘natural’.
Major Area of Study: MD/Surgeon
Minor Areas of Study: Biochemistry (Degree); Genetics (Master
Degree); Microbiology (Master Degree); Neurogeneticist, specializing
in Nanotechnology (PhD)
Languages: Sign, Betazoid, Federation Standard.
Background:
Violet’s empathic abilities began showing almost since birth. It was
thought this was likely due to her mixed heritage, each one
bolstering and enhancing the other. When it was discovered that she
possessed the Minarian ability of Empathic Healing, she was taken
into training. Her telepathic abilities, although not showing up at
birth, did develop at quite and early age. From almost the beginning
she possessed the desire and temperament of a healer and all her
studies became geared to that end.
Violet possesses an extremely high intelligence and was a child
prodigy growing up. By the time she entered the Starfleet Academy at
seventeen, she already possessed a degree in Biochemistry, had taken
all of her pre-med courses, and published two papers. She has an
innate understanding of chemistry, biology, and physiology, which
makes anything related very easy for her to learn. The ‘standard’
classes at the Academy were somewhat difficult for her to grasp.
However once she reached Starfleet Medical, she practically breezed
through it.
While she is working, her ability is a very natural extension of her
practice, and yet, at the same time, she uses the resources
available to her through science and technology. She is constantly
developing ways for the two to work together although she prefers to
use her skill rather than relying solely on her gift.
Violet developed a deep fascination with nanites and the unlimited
possibilities they represented once she learned of their potential
during her medical training at Starfleet. With that driving
fascination in mind, she did her surgical residency on board the
Rhode Island before going on to the Adelman Neurological Institute
for her Doctorate degree in Neurogenetics with a specialty in
nanotechnology.
She is nearly as much scientist as she is physician. But it is her
innate desire to help others and her natural ability that keeps her
warming a stethoscope more often than a microscope, although she
does shamelessly indulge herself with the latter.

Personal Traits: Violet is very easy to get along with. She is
normally quiet, but can become quite animated when she is passionate
about something. She is a brilliant doctor and scientist, but she
often lacks simple common sense and can be a bit of an air-head.
Special Notes: As a Betazoid/Minaran mix, Violet is both highly
empathic and telepathic, her mixed blood enhancing the abilities of
both the DNA strands that make up her unique physiology.. She is not
only able to sense the emotions of others, as Betazoids can, but she
also has an innate desire to help others. She possesses the Minaran
ability to absorb pain from another person and to heal injuries.
Identical wounds then appear on Violet, and she is able to dissipate
the absorbed injuries through her own body. Violet's empathic
abilities give her a sense of others pain when in close proximity.
She can mind meld with an individual when she accepts their pain and
draws it out of them along with the injury they have sustained.
Violet has a very powerful immune system and is able to cope easily
with illnesses that may kill others. She can heal a hundred times
faster than a normal Human. This is still dangerous however, as she
can literally kill herself by accepting too much damage. Even toxins
do not affect her.
Minarans are mute; however, the lack of vocal cords is not a
disability, but is physiologically normal for their race, hence
Violet has a voice synthesizer imbedded in her neck. Minarans are
capable of adapting after contact with other species; if exposed to
passion and bravery, they will become passionate and brave.
