Honors
Federation Star	The Federation Star is awarded to a person who, while a member of Starfleet, distinguishes himself conspicuously by bravery and valor at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty while engaged in an action against an enemy of the Federation; while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an opposing foreign force. The deed performed must have been one of personal bravery or self-sacrifice so conspicuous as to clearly distinguish the individual above his comrades and must have involved risk of life. Incontestable proof of the performance of the service will be exacted. This is a very rare honor, and is often given posthumously.
Starfleet Cross	Awarded to Officers and Warrant Officers for an act or acts of valor, courage or devotion to duty in active operations against an enemy.
Golden Starburst	Awarded for extraordinary heroism, not justifying the award of a Federation Star, to any person who, while a member of Starfleet engaged in military operations involving conflict with an opposing foreign force against an enemy of the Federation. The act or acts of heroism must have been so notable and have involved risk of life so extraordinary as to set the individual apart from his or her comrades.

Legion of Merit	Awarded to Officers, Warrant Officers and any non-commissioned member of Starfleet "who shall have distinguished themselves by exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services". The Legion of Merit may be awarded for combat or non-combat services. Justification of the award may accrue by virtue of exceptionally meritorious service in a succession of important positions. This is the highest Starfleet award for non-combat services.
Distinguished Service Cross	Awarded to Starfleet and Marine officers (Commanders or below), including Warrant Officers (or equivalent), for meritorious or distinguished services before the enemy.
Medal for Bravery	Awarded to non-commissioned officers and men for an act or acts of exceptional valor, courage or devotion to duty, though not in active operations against the enemy.
Conspicuous Gallantry	Awarded to Officers, Warrant Officer's, and non-commissioned members of Starfleet and Starfleet Marines for acts of conspicuous gallantry whilst in active operations against the enemy.
Valor Cross	The Valor Cross is awarded to a person who, while serving in any capacity with Starfleet, distinguishes himself by bravery and valor above and beyond the call of duty while engaged in an action against an enemy of the Federation; while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an opposing foreign force. The deed performed must have been so conspicuous as to clearly distinguish the individual above his comrades. The required self-sacrifice, while of a lesser degree than that required for the Starfleet Cross, must nevertheless have been performed with marked distinction.
Starfleet Achievement Medal	Awarded to Starfleet personnel for outstanding achievement or meritorious service rendered specifically on behalf of the Federation. It may also be awarded for acts of heroism which do not meet the requirements for award of the Legion of Merit medal.
Meritorious Service Medal	Awarded to any member of Starfleet who distinguishes themselves by either outstanding achievement or meritorious noncombat service to the Federation.
Combat Readiness Medal	Awarded to Officers, Warrant Officer's, and non-commissioned members of Starfleet and Starfleet Marines for demonstrated superior combat abilities whilst in active operations against the enemy.
Decorations
Commendation
Academy Honors	Awarded to Cadets of Starfleet Academy that graduate with honors. This is the only ribbon from Starfleet Academy that an officer may wear once they are commissioned into Starfleet or the Starfleet Marines.
Special Service	Awarded to officers, warrant officers, and non-commissioned members of Starfleet and the Starfleet Marines for successful special operations missions in enemy territory during times of war.
Officer Service Decoration	Awarded to officers after ten years of meritorious service as an officer of Starfleet or the Starfleet Marines.
Purple Heart	Awarded to all members of Starfleet and the Starfleet Marines that, whilst on duty, were wounded or killed as result of combat.
Recruitment Award	Awarded to all members of Starfleet and the Starfleet Marines that acted as recruiters and surpassed the recruitment goals set forth by Starfleet Division of Recruitment and Retention.
Distinguished Trainer Award	Awarded to all members of Starfleet and the Starfleet Marines that set themselves apart from their fellow trainers and routinely produced well-trained crewmen and women (or Marines).
Dominion War Service	Awarded to any member of Starfleet or the Marines that entered the war zone, was involved in combat, or was onboard a ship that was involved in combat with Dominion forces.
Cardassian War Service	Awarded to any member of Starfleet or the Marines that entered the war zone, was involved in combat, or was onboard a ship that was involved in combat with Cardassian forces.
Zen'kethi War Service	Awarded to any member of Starfleet or the Marines that entered the war zone, was involved in combat, or was onboard a ship that was involved in combat with Zen'kethi forces.
Talarian Conflict Service	Awarded to any member of Starfleet or the Marines that entered the contested area of space, was involved in combat, or was onboard a ship involved in combat with Talarian forces.
Prestigious Unit Award	Awarded to all members of a Starfleet or Starfleet Marine unit that was found to be above-average in training, preparedness, and discipline. Units are nominated by the inspecting officer, the fleet commander-inchief, or base commander.
Prisoner of War Decoration	Awarded to all members of Starfleet or the Starfleet Marines that was captured in combat with enemy forces and maintained their composure under severe duress.
Pilot	"Wings" are awarded to graduates of Tactical Flight School. Graduates are then certified to pilot certain small and large craft ranging from fighters and shuttles to starships.
Special Operations Forces	Awarded to graduates of Special Operations Training. Graduates are not given the badge until they participate in one special operation during peace or war.
Exoatmospheric Parachutist	Awarded to any member of Starfleet or the Starfleet Marines that has achieved certification in planetary insertion by exoatmospheric freefall parachuting.
Subaquatic Operations	Awarded to any member of Starfleet or the Starfleet Marines that has achieved certification to carry out subaquatic operations by means of hazardous-containment suit, SCUBA Rebreather, or LO₂ equipment.
