Anything but shy, he is outgoing and enjoys interacting with his fellow crewmen. A hardened veteran, he shouldn't be fazed by combat.  Commonly known amongst his peers as "the one who never sleeps" due to his common double and triple shifts.

Awards & Commendations:

Personal History:
Home Planet:
Attended and graduated from his hometown high school in Chicago as salutatorian. He was President of his class, Captain of the Basketball and Baseball teams, and awarded the Rice Citizenship Award.
Academy Years:
As a high school athlete, the physical tests were easy for him. He was always volunteering to lead the morning runs and to do various physical activities first. He began rowing on the Academy's Crew team and received three varsity letters during his stay. Participated in flight school as well as his assigned coursework. Graduated with honors
Service Years:
After attending the Academy, Jonas immediately received training in starship and small craft piloting and received his Class III ratings, qualifying him for the largest of starships. He was then assigned to the USS Monitor, where he was promoted to Lieutenant J.G. after 2 years. A year later, he was transferred to the USS Valley Forge, and after serving as their Chief Flight Officer for a year, was promoted to full Lieutenant and made Officer of the Deck and acting Second Officer. After another two years as the Valley Forge's OOD, he went on a two year long sabbatical in which he earned a Doctorate in Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Military History and upon returning to Starfleet, was promoted to Lieutenant Commander and made the Intrepid-Class USS Bellerophon's Executive Officer. For the next 3 years, the entire duration of the Dominion War, he served as the Bellerophon's XO. His ship was involved in a number of the largest battles to take place in that war.
The Bellerophon landed on Betazed to oversee the processing of prisoners and assist in the evacuation of casualties. Jonas was in charge of the preliminary interrogations of a number of Vorta and Cardassians.
At the end of the war, Jonas had earned two commendations for meritorious duty and a Valor Cross. After a 6 month long vacation, he received orders to report for a new assignment on a battle-ridden station, his current post.  Since his arrival at Starbase Liberty, Jonas has been promoted to Captain and made the Commanding Officer of the station.
