I wrote this late at night, so I really couldn't come up with anything better than No Worries. The characters aren't mine ~too bad huh? I just borrow them~ they belong to Donald P. Bellisario, CBS and maybe others. I do not intend to infringe copyright and I don't make any money with this and other stories. Spoilers: nope not that I know of Summary: Well, Harm and Mac have a weird day.... I dunno read it. Class: it's a Harm/Mac Shipper story, of course! Mac was lying on the couch, turning and twisting. She had taken 4 days off, she credited herself at least that much. She'd thought it'd be good for her, a little relaxation. But frankly, she was quite bored. She was gonna sleep late, but instead woke up at 0545 and now she was turning on the couch, finding her twist. Suddenly there was a knock on the door, it startled her, causing her to fall off the couch. 'Damn!' She quickly got up and moved to the door.

Harm was on his way. He had taken a few days off. He was now heading for Mac's place. He'd figured he'd try a different approach. Not serious, just harmless fun. He got to her apartment and knocked on the door. He heard a loud thump and looked surprised. The door opened.

"Hey" 'What's he doing here, isn't he supposed to be working?'

"Morning" he answered, sliding past her. 'Let's see if this works'

She was wearing short-cut jeans and a gray T-shirt. As he walked inside he looked around. "You fell off the couch, didn't you." He said it as a statement, more than a question. She decided not to say anything.

"What are you doing here?" She was a bit confused to see Harm here.

"I thought I'd take a few days off, the place won't fall apart without me" "Although I'm not too sure what will happen if both of us are gone..." he added, smiling.

She faintly smiled back, it still didn't answer her question. He read the confusion of her face. "So, I thought I'd come to pick you up."

"Take me where, exactly?"

"We're gonna fly"

"You didn't even ask me, what if I had other plans" 'I'd love to go though.'

"That's okay, I'll go alone." He said, turning around and heading for the door. 'Please come' he thought.

"Wait, wait. I said you didn't ask me, I didn't say I wasn't gonna come."

He smiled and she was relieved, she was so bored she couldn't let this slip away.

"Alright, just don't move and I'll be ready in 6 minutes and 22 seconds."

"Wh..

"Time me!" She called while walking towards her bedroom. 'What the...time her?'

Exactly 6 minutes and 22 seconds she reappeared. All packed up, it was soon gonna be very hot outside since it was summer, but high up in the air was a different story.

"How...You know what, I'm not even gonna ask."

"Good choice." She answered as both left the apartment.

They were high up in the air, above the clouds and enjoying a low, morning sun. It was pretty chilling up there, but both of them were packed up warm.

"You wanna fly her?"

"Sure, I'll try not to crash."

Mac took over the plane and maneuvered a little to the left, then to the right. She had picked up some things about flying a plane after the last time she flew with Harm. It wasn't the best memory since they almost died of poachers when they had to make an emergency landing. She swiftly took a sharp turn to the right. Harm startled and Mac laughed loudly. "Okay, Tomboy. I'll take her back now." He said with a wide grin as Mac gave a funny sad-looking face. They flew around for a while, Harm stunting a little. They headed towards an open landing spot and Harm gently set her down near the edge of the forest, trees hanging over the plane.

"Well, we're gonna have to walk the next part, do you mind?"

"Are you considering carrying me?"

"No"

"Then, no. I don't mind"

'Where the hell are we going?'. Harm had packed a small bag from the plane and secured it, so nobody could steal it or fly away with it. Not that anybody would ever get there. It was a pretty small place to land in, Harm had landed next to the tall trees so the bright yellow plane wouldn't be in sight so much. And now they were walking through the forest.

"Is it very far?"

"No maybe an hour or so." 'You better like it, it's very special'

They had walked for 1 hour and 3 minutes when the forest became less dense. The sound of the ocean was heard. The waves breaking on the beach. It didn't take long before they could see the golden sand. It was a very small beach, undisturbed. This beach was all quiet, unlike she expected. With this weather all the other beaches would be crowded as hell. 'I don't think anybody knows of this place...' As if he'd read her thoughts he began to explain.

"Nobody ever comes here, it's impossible to reach by boat because of the rocks and reeves. The nearest road is about 25 of 30 miles away. In all those years I've visited this place, I haven't seen a single person."

"You're own, private beach. You must have had quite a few laughs here with friends."

"It's a special place, I've never taken anyone here before."

"Why me?" She asked, curious why this place was special to him. She stood close to him.

"Because you're special to me as well."

"Harm..." they looked at each other and smiled.

"Hey, no time for Hallmark moments now, we gotta have fun." He laughed as he pulled her with him across the beach, not too far from the water. She stumbled through the sand but he kept her up. They stood in bright sunlight, it was already very hot and they were steaming in all the clothes they were still wearing. So they took them off. Mac was still wearing the short jeans and gray T-shirt. He was wearing boxers and a white shirt.

"Come on I bet the water's great." He said looking at the blue water with high waves.

"I didn't bring any swimwear"

"That doesn't matter now does it? We're all alone." He looked straight into her eyes.

"Red light, Commander." 'God, what am I doing??'

He laughed and she couldn't suppress a slight smile.

"Ór you could just swim in your clothes, they'll dry in the sun."

He gave her a flyboy smile because of all this. This morning he had told himself to use the different approach and it seemed to be working. He didn't mean anything with it, or at least he kept telling himself that, but she was loosening up and that was a good sign.

"They're jeans, they'll take a long time, drying."

"Who said we'd be leaving anytime soon?"

He moved towards the water. She had no excuse left, not to go swimming so she came along with him. They were standing alongside the waterline. Before she knew what happened he'd pulled her into the water with him and she was almost in to the waist."

"Aaaagh!!" She screamed "That's freezing!" and she pulled back out of the water until it reached to her ankles. She shivered. The water hadn't had much time to warm up yet.

Harm plainly walked in as if it was bathtub water. The water reached a few inches above his waist.

"Come on, suck it up Jarhead!" He toyed with her.

She gave him an evil look. Pure faked evil. And slowly walked back in. She fixated her eyes on him as she walked on. The water creeping higher and higher until it barely reached her waist. He looked at her in expectance. Then she plunged in and disappeared. The ever-moving water made it impossible to look far beneath the surface. Suddenly he was pulled down with surprisingly great strength by his arm. He too, disappeared beneath the surface. The current took them somewhat further out of the shoreline, but it was still near because the beach was steep and the water got deeper rapidly. Both of them surfaced and gasped for breath, laughing loudly. They hung in the water, catching their breath from an under-water wrestle and easily swam back to where their feet could touch the sand. Once she had been under, the water didn't seem so bad anymore. She dove under a few times and surfaced again.

"Alright, I'm gonna dry up now." She said and she walked towards the shoreline. Playfully she splattered some water at him, without even looking back.

"No way!" He answered and he got up, grabbed her hand and pulled her back in.

Struggling to break free from his grip they rolled over in the water, making every possible turn and water splashed all around them. As they were struggling, Mac came a little closer to shore, Harm pulled her back or went after her. After a while they landed in shallow water, which reached up ankle high. Mac lay on her back, pinned down by Harm. He firmly held her shoulders back and smiled. But she used her legs to flip him over and now he was the one on his back. She gave him a you-thought-you'd-won look and released him. She walked to the rest of their stuff and he followed her. 'God I had no idea it was gonna work out so good, she really loosened up a lot' 'What the hell am I doing? Did we just wrestle? I can't even begin to resist his smile. If he'd only knew.'

Harm started unpacking the bag, they were both soaking wet but he didn't have any towels. They would just have to dry up in the sun. He pulled out a blanket and a box. Out of nowhere he got two glasses. Amazingly unbroken. He popped open a bottle and filled the glasses.

"Harm I can't..."

"Relax, it's non-alcoholic. How do you expect me to fly us back?"

True. She let him pour her a glass and he packed sandwiches and fruit out of the box.

"Sorry, no Beltway Burgers for you this time."

"What have you got there?"

"Taste it, they're good."

She took a bite and a priceless weird look appeared on her face, it made him laugh.

"Well?"

"These are delicious! Did you make them?"

"Yeah, Harm's special turn-Mac-into-a-health-nut sandwiches."

"Very funny"

They ate their sandwiches and drunk their non-alcoholic drinks in silence. Both unaware of the fact they were thinking of each other. Harm had suppressed his thoughts for this long, but his mind drifted off and so did Mac's. 'I've never seen her, all loosened up like this. Face it Harm, she is amazing.' 'I haven't had such a great time since, well I can't even remember! I wonder why this place is so special to him...he said I was special to him too!' Thoughts swirled around in Mac's head as if she were a schoolgirl, he called her special! She still couldn't quite catch the fact they had wrestled though.

"So what makes this place so special Harm? First girlfriend? What?"

"Have you looked? Not a sound, it's beautiful here."

"That's not it, tell me."

There was a pause before he answered.

"My dad, took me here a few times, when he was home. We used to swim here and climb rocks and trees...." He paused, looked at her and then continued "I took you here because, well you come with me so far in the search for my father. Further than anyone, you stood by me, even though you must've thought me nuts sometimes."

"Harm I never thought you were."

"You didn't?"

"No, all the things you did, it's very understandable. You've lost your father when you were very young and there's no guarantee he's dead. It's perfectly normal to try and find him....I just didn't want you to get hurt, or loose yourself"

He put an arm around her shoulders and hugged her.

"Thanks Mac."

"Girl next door..." she mumbled, almost soundless. 'Will I always be the girl next door? That's it?'

'Girl next door, but I don't want you to be just that Mac.'

They cleaned up a bit and Mac lay down in the sun. It was getting later and the heat of the day slowly started to decrease. Later, when they had rested a bit, they got up. They decided to explore the beach further, even for Harm it was a while ago since he'd been here. They walked along the whole shoreline, it didn't take long. Mac even found a pretty shell, about the size of a hand and kept it. When they got to the end they climbed up a rock and enjoyed the view for a while.

"Look at that, shaped like an eagle!" Mac pointed. Harm looked in the direction and saw a cloud, shaped exactly like an eagle.

"That one there kinda looks like a Tomcat."

"Hey you're right, I guess a flyboy would know that." She grinned.

"See that one?"

"Yeah" he said, but he couldn't make out the figure, it was really weird.

"It reminds me of Webb."

They both laughed at the cloud, supposedly shaped like the CIA agent. They stayed there for a while, having pretty useless conversations, mostly about clouds and maybe Webb. They saw clouds shaped like the White House, flowers, windmills and even cows. 'It's amazing how much useless information he knows!' 'Shapes of clouds? Were we really talking about that, we're both so different from the way we usually are.' Slowly and easily they walked back to the place their clothes were, this time past the edge of the forest. They were walking so slowly, stopping to look at every weird tree or animal they saw and babbling on about it. By the time they got back to the stuff the sun was setting.

"Come on you have to see this."

He led her to a place behind the rocks were they could climb up a small cliff. Reaching the top they sad down on the edge. The sun turned beautifully red and slowly disappeared behind the horizon. Both were pretty tired. Harm placed his hand between her shoulder blades. A shiver went through her whole body, then she placed her head on his shoulder. The sun had now completely disappeared.

"I had the best day, Harm."

"Yeah we should do this more often."

She lifted her head and looked at him from the corner of her eyes. "It was funny, the way you panicked when I tilted the plane"

"I didn't panic, I was surprised!"

"Yeah right, not to mention the way I had you down, on the beach."

"I let you. Try to get out of this one."

"Aaah!"

He pulled her back by her shoulder and held her tight to the ground. Using his whole weight, she couldn't possibly get out of it.

"That's because you got me by surprise!"

"No excuse marine!"

His face was directly above hers, she smiled guiltily. She turned serious again, lost the feeling. All day, she had so much fun, not being Major MacKenzie, but Mac. The real Mac, as she rarely was and now just this tiny little thing made it all disappear. She couldn't help feeling sad for loosing that special feeling and wanted to get away, she did nothing. Unlike earlier on the beach, there was nothing she could do to get out of it, her heartbeat accelerated and her breath became heavier as happened often when he was close to her. As if on cue they drew closer to one another and their lips met. His kiss was firm but tender. He had made himself a promise he wouldn't do anything like this, today had just been about getting her loosened up, but seeing her like that, underneath him, helplessly. He couldn't resist, neither did she refuse him. Though she felt unsure again. They kissed until they were both out of breath, they had to break away from each other. When she looked in his eyes she saw how much he loved her and cared about her. She couldn't help spilling a tear. As soon as they had caught their breath he kissed her again, more confidant this time. She saw it in his eyes and felt it in his hands on her shoulders. The feeling reappeared. She left any worries behind, she felt exactly as she had the whole day, happy and unworried. She cleared her mind of any thoughts and let Harm take her wherever he wanted to go as she wrapped her arms around his neck, passionately answering his kiss.
