Mac came out of the shower and dressed, today was Saturday and there was no way she would be working today. As she walked into the room she noticed the red light of her answering machine flash. That's weird, I didn't hear anyone call...maybe from last night. She thought.

"Morning Ninja Girl!" Harm's voice sounded.

"Meet me at the Wilson's Meadow 20 miles outside of the city. I figured you would be able to make it by 1300. And dress warm, it's a bit chilly."

Mac was surprised, when did he call her? She knew he was grinning when he had called her, she could hear it. She decided to meet him, but she made a promise to herself she'd kill him if it was work-related. Mac arrived at the meadow 2 minutes early. As usual there was no sign of Harm. She noticed it as soon as she heard the roaring sound. It wasn't hard to notice, being bright yellow. She couldn't help smiling but forced herself to straighten her face when he landed. She walked up to him.

"Cute, Harm." She said skeptically, inside she felt that way, but he couldn't know that.

"Yeah, I thought so."

He got out of the plane and walked to the back, he pulled out a warm jacket and some other gear she needed.

"Here you go."

"Thanks."

She got into the jacket and stepped into the plane.

"So where are you taking me?"

"We're going for a flight, the rest's a surprise."

She settled and so did he. Not long after the plane took off.

"So I didn't hear any phone calls this morning, when did you call me?"

"Last night, at the party."

"How did you know I wouldn't check my messages when I got home."

"I know you better than you think."

"So it was plain luck."

He laughed and confirmed her statement. They flew around for a while, Harm showed her some special things you could only see from the air.

"Having fun?"

"Yeah!"

"You wanna take her for a while?"

"Alright, I'll try."

She took control of the yellow Stearman. It was a great feeling, heavenly. Harm told her to go left, she did it immediately.

"I'm glad you're not like this when you drive."

As an answer she turned from left to right even more sudden.

"Alright, alright you win."

Mac laughed loudly, she was having the time of her life. Harm looked at her, she was in the seat in front of him. He could see she was having fun and his thoughts wondered off.

"Harm...Harm!!"

"What?"

"Where were you? You take her over now."

"Yeah, sorry, I was thinking."

He took over the controls again. He explained that they were gonna land and flew in the direction he wanted to go. Mac leaned back and enjoyed the pleasant flight. Harm took her down. He landed in a wide field, surrounded by trees. Harm started getting things out. A blanket, a box and some other things were in it.

"I hope you're hungry."

"Starving."

They sat down. Harm got some glasses and a green bottle and started to pour.

They ate in mutual silence, enjoying the sandwiches Harm had made. When they finished, Mac complemented him on the sandwiches, they were really good. She told him she was gonna take a look around. She walked to the edge of the forest and looked at the beauty, she was sure no one ever came here. Suddenly she spotted it, brown and heavy.

"Harm" She whispered "Harm!" Hissing now.

He looked up and she motioned him to come closer. Carefully he came nearer and kneeled down with her. Both looking at the bear, so near to them.

"Look, there."

He said as he placed a hand on her back. She felt a shiver, closed her eyes and swallowed. When she opened her eyes she looked in the direction he was pointing. From behind the bushes, a bear cub appeared. He was hiding shyly behind his mother. Harm and Mac were both touched by the image. After a while, the mother disappeared into the dense forest, the cub right behind her. They stood up and his hand slipped of her back, she shivered again. The place his hand had touched felt burning.

"Listen. I hear water..."

"Let's go look."

They walked through the forest, but they didn't go far from the meadow. The sounds of water became louder and not long after they came upon a brook, which led to a small pond. It was very clean and Mac tried a sip. It was even better than mineral water, she concluded. They continued their little hike, amazed by the beauty of the woods when they felt little drops.

"Rain? The weather was so beautiful."

"We better get back to the plane."

When they reached the meadow the bad weather had picked up and the rain was streaming. Thunder was heard, and rapidly coming closer.

"We can't fly with this weather, we'll have to wait."

They crawled under the small sail, with the thunder closing in it didn't seem like a good idea to sit under a tree. The sail was rather small and they cuddled up. The weather was raging and the sail didn't give much protection. She shivered, he put his arm around her and pulled her close against him. Her heartbeat accelerated. She couldn't move for a minute, calming down she leaned her head on his shoulder. Harm was aware of her body, so close to his and placed his head on hers. Picking up the sweet scent of her hair, his mind drifted off.

Finally the rain had ended. And just as quickly as it had come, the bad weather disappeared. The clouds broke apart and the sun was once again visible. But now the sun was already lowering.

"The sun is setting...Harm"

"What? No, we can't spend the night here we have to go home."

"Harm you can't fly at night!"

"It's not night yet, I can fly in the shimmering. Only it will be dark while we're in the air"

He paused for a minute and looked at her. Suddenly she understand what he was saying.

"No, I can't fly the plane!! I can't, you know that!"

"Settle down, you don't have to fly...you just need to help me land."

"What? No this is crazy!"

"Mac, we don't have anything that will help us through the night. Now I know you can do this."

Mac seemed to ponder. He seemed so sure she could do it, he put all faith in her. She knew she couldn't say no to him so she slowly nodded her head.

"Alright. Come on let's pack things up."

Not long after they were in the air. The storm and lightning had disrupted some things. Mac was wondering how she could've been so stupid to say yes. She couldn't guide him, but they didn't have a choice anymore. The sun was almost under and the sky darkened. Harm's trouble seeing started. Soon he would have to rely on Mac to guide him. He had explained everything to her as they packed.

"You okay Mac?"

"I guess so."

"You know what to do?"

"Yeah."

"Let's do it then."

He sounded so confident, but she knew that was only to keep her up. Inside he was just as scared as her for the landing, which would take place in some time, without light.

All had darkened around them now, Mac had told him figures of landscapes she'd seen and so he maintained the right course. The were nearing the landing place. Harm made contact to the ground and asked for permission to land. He said some more things that Mac didn't hear.

"Alright Mac, this is it. You can do it."

"Your too much to the right."

"How many degrees?"

"I don't know, try turning 25 to the left. Just a bit more....Yeah that's it." Mac's hands were clammy and she was focusing very hard on all the things he'd told her.

"Your too high, take her down.... It's a bit foggy I can't see very well."

Harm took the plane down, totally relying on Mac. The storm had disrupted some things so he couldn't get a clear vision of the altitude. Mac was trying to see through the low fog but she was having a hard time, suddenly she could see through a gap in the clouds. What she saw terrified her, the ground was rapidly coming closer.

"Take her up!!!! UP!! You're way too low!!" Mac screamed.

Harm immediately responded to her screams by pulling her up as much as possible, but he couldn't prevent the plane from scraping the ground. Mac lost it then, she was being tumbled around in the plane. It was sliding over the ground, twisting around, it almost tipped over but fell back when it hit a wall with a hard bang.

Mac groaned. She opened her eyes and looked around. Harm had come out of the plane and climbed up to her.

"Mac!"

"I..I'm okay"

She said as she got out. When she stood on the ground she noticed she was still dizzy from the spinning and she fell into Harm's embrace.

"You did great! Thank God you're okay."

"No I didn't do great, we could've died!"

"Mac, shh, it's not your fault it was foggy, you did the best you could. And besides, we're still here aren't we?"

She looked up at him, realizing that they just escaped death. It hit a trigger with her. She leaned up to him and kissed him, it was little more than the brush of their lips.

Harm was caught, totally off guard. The touch of her lips made him almost collapse. He leaned in and kissed her again, deeper this time. At this moment a lot of people appeared from seemingly out of nowhere. They made sure there wasn't any danger around the plane. They seemed a little hesitant to interrupt the two people who where passionately kissing. When they broke up to gasp for breath, a fireman approached and took them with him.
