You
The Mirror Has Two Sides
I see you
A scared little girl clinging to fragile hope.

I hear you
Crying out to be comforted only to be ignored.

I tell you
Sometimes people do not understand what you tell them.

I hold you
Close to my heart and try to protect you.

I understand you
You may not believe me, but I do.

I am you
And you are me, my inner child with no peace.

You are me
trying to believe in something that isn't there.

Similiar in many ways,
   but different in many more.
Shy, self-conscience and scared versus
   outgoing, secure and confident.
You are former
   I am now.
Mirrors reflect the same image
   but never what's inside.
I am everything you want to be
you are everything I am not.
Past meets present,
   present meets past.
I am you,
   you were me.
