Why would they be doing this, Starfire asked herself as she examined the meadow. She ran a hand through her shoulder-length aubern hair. The latest cyberpet theft had occured here. She looked around once more wondering who would be so horrible as to steal someone else's cyberpets instead of adopting their own. So many of her pets had been stolen off of the sanctuary, it was maddening. Starfire decided to takeone last look around the meadow for clues. So far at all of the thefts no clues had been unearthed. Starfire's green eyes flashed angrily at this thought. She pushed this out of her head and forced herself to concentrate on the task at hand. Starfire worked her way carefully through the bushes and trees around the clearing There! Halfway around the meadow there were footprints followed by a groove, as if something large was being dragged. The grove led away from the meadow. Starfire wasn't sure whether to summon help, or go on alone. After a moment thought she decided that summoning help would take too long. The theif already had a two hour headstart, why give the theif more time with which to use? She set off at a jog, following the groove and was soon led out of the sanctuary. Eventually she had to follow it onto a very large desert. In the distance Starfire spied a figure towing something large behind it. Starfire felt a wave of anger streaked with relief at findind the theif. Actually she wasn't absolutly posotive that this was the theif, but she sure hoped it was. Starfire broke into a run. She drew steadinly nearer. The man looked over his shoulder and caught sight of Starfire racing toward him with anger written all over her face. He dropped the sack and broke into an all-out run. Starfire let him go as she was more worried about the cyberpets, who weren't used to the heat. She could always track the theif down after returning the cyberpets. Starfire ran to the sack and yanked it open. Inside, there were two sacks squashed next to each other. She opened the larger one and a tiger-like equine bounded out to rush after the fleeing figure. Starfire reached in and opened the smaller sack. Four cocoons tumbled out of the sack. Two looked dead, but the other two were alive and wriggling. Starfire looked up to see someone running toward you, following a large, bright red, almost dog-like creature with multiple tails and wings. Starfire turned to wait for the pair. When they finally got there, Starfire learned that the cocoons were egyptis cocoons, and that the dog-like creature was their mother. She offered to let you have one of them as a reward for the rescue of the cocoons. At that point the equine returned carrying the theif. It showed them where the stolen cyberpets were. Everything was returned to normal ecept that Starfire had recieved another cyberpet to love, play with, and care for. You can return to the cliff or return to mypets. |
