From The Mind Of A Goa'uld: The Curse
By Becca
I leave the Tauri's body lying on the ground and walk over to the shadows to await the arrival of Daniel Jackson. He may know the location of the Stargate. But if he does not, it is no matter. My ship is hidden deep inside this temple, ready and waiting for my use. My Tauri host, a fragile creature, I will have to get a new host when I return home, has recovered from the shock of seeing me mortally injure and perhaps kill her friend, Steven she calls him.
(What have you done to him? What have you done to Steven?) she cries out. She is an annoyance and I squash her conscience down into a small corner.
I hear a rumbling sound and dig through my host's mind until I fond out what it is. A jeep, this vehicle is unfamiliar to me. It must carry Daniel Jackson, for no other would come here at this time.
A man enters the temple with two females. This must be him, my host recognises him, but cannot provide me with information on the females. They enter cautiously but upon seeing the Tauri's body they rush over and abandon their weapons to check on him. Foolish. Very foolish. But I should not have expected more of the Tauri. They are born only to serve as hosts to us, the superior race.
"Steven?" Daniel Jackson asks.
"I'm not sensing anything. He's not a Goa'uld." The blond female says. Interesting. So the Tauri have developed a way to sense Us.
"Steven?" Daniel Jackson repeats.
"He's bleeding internally," the red-haired female says. So this is one of the Tauri healers. And that is all she can tell them? I stifle a laugh. They do not need to know of my presence yet.
"Daniel?" Steven asks. He is extraordinarily resistant. I had not expected him to be alive still.
"What happened?"
"I took the amulet. It's over 10,000 years old. You...were right all along, Daniel. I'm sorry," Steven replies. Theory? What theory? The Tauri shifts a little and instantly regrets it. Good. I have caused at least some suffering.
"Hey take it easy. I need you to hold still," the healer tells him. So she still thinks she can save him? It is very doubtful.
"It's OK. She's a friend. What about the jar?" Daniel Jackson must be talking about my prison, the jar Setesh trapped me in for many years. I smashed it of course. It was much easier for the Tauri to believe it burnt in the fire I started rather then them figuring out that I was gone.
"Wha?" Steven's brain is still befuddled. Good. Then he will be unable to alert them to my presence before it is too late.
"The Osiris jar. Did you open it?"
"No." Of course not. Are the Tauri stupid enough to think I would choose a host as scrawny and mindless as that? I was in him for a short time of course, while I was in the middle of jumping from host to host: the Professor to him to this one. He was unaware of my presence.
"Why did you come here?" So many questions. He could make an interesting host. He seems to know much.
"I figured out the amulet was a key. There's a hidden chamber. I wanted to make the discovery." Had he not taken the amulet I would have been gone by now. It is his fault I am still here!
"Daniel, we have to get him out of here," the healer says, interrupting their conversation. And she has only just figured that out? Pitiful.
"Steven, who did this to you?" asks Daniel Jackson, ignoring the healer for now. Now is the perfect time to reveal myself to them.
"I did."
"Sarah?" Is he a total slo'vac? of course I'm not 'Sarah' as he so calls my host. I raise my hand and activate the hand device I recently recovered, sending the two females flying against the wall. That will take care of them for a while. I grab Daniel Jackson by his throat and lift him partially off the ground.
"Daniel Jackson. You seem to know much of the Goa'uld. Much more then any other human I have encountered since my awakening. Now tell me...where is the Stargate?"
"I don't know what you are talking about." These Tauri continue to infuriate me. I push him against a wall and turn and walk away.
"Insolence." Where are my worshippers? They would deal with these nuisances for me.
"This temple was once filled with worshippers."
"Yeah well...times have changed." Yes...I wonder how many years have passed since Setesh imprisoned me?
"So I have observed. Where is my brother Setesh?"
"Ah, you mean SETH. Uh... He's dead. Yeah, we killed him." He says with a nod towards his companions. He lies. No-one would dare harm one of their gods.
"You lie!" "No no...we also killed Ra and Hathor...and ah who else?...Sokar." Now I will have more worshippers and Jaffa.
"Then you have done me a great favor. I shall rule without opposition.."
"No...no you won't rule at all...we don't...we don't worship false gods anymore." How dare he! We are true gods and must not be treated in such a way as he is, brushing us off. Never mind. The Tauri are still weak, no matter how far they have some.
"You have come far, it is true. But you are still weak. Even now you are torn between your desire to kill me and your concern for my host. She who freed me from my long sleep." But what of my queen, Isis. I cannot rule without her by my side. "What do you know of my queen?"
"Um...she was trapped like you. We have the jar."
"Where is it?" He must know where it is.
"I'm not going to tell you." He is mistaken, very mistaken. He will tell me everything I need to know.
"You are mistaken." I raise my hand, focus the hand device on his forehead and activate it. "Where is my queen? Tell me!" He cringes from the force of the device, but still he tells me nothing. He raises his hand in an uncharacteristic display of strength.
Then his hand jerks up and jabs something into my host's flesh. Nearly instantaneously I begin to feel sluggish and weary. My control over my hosts mind is slipping and I struggle to retain control.
"What is this? What have you done?" the Tauri just smiles slightly and slips down to the ground. I must get to my ship before my control goes totally. "You will pay for this insolence!"
I manage to walk over to the device that will make my ship rise from the sands and take me to my palace in the stars. I activate it and hear the answering rumble as my ship starts up.
"Make no mistake! Osiris will return! And the rivers of earth will run red with blood!" I seeth. This Tauri has ruined everything for me. But I will get my revenge. I activate the transport rings and wait for the resulting 'pull' up to my ship.
