LAST TIME ON SG-13

"I'm confused." Kat said.

Bryn nodded, "Me too."

"Catch 22." Mish agreed, with a manic grin.

The girls trudged around the forest. “This is really boring,” Cara commented. She took off her pack and sat on it. “You guys look. I don’t want to.”

“And why do we have to look for it when you’re sitting?” Bryn demanded.

“I’m the leader!” Cara yelled.

“Bite me!” Bryn yelled back.

“No, *you* bite *me*!” Cara yelled even louder.

Becca decided that, since they weren’t going anywhere, this would be a good time to dig the jaffas out of her pack for a chocolate fix.

Kat looked around and whispered in Mish’s ear, “Ya know, the technowhatsis or the DFD or whatever we’re calling it now is over there.”

Mish looked. “So it is,” she said back. “Why’re you whispering?”

Kat shrugged. “Good point. Hey guys!” she called. “I found that thingie we’re looking for!”

Becca looked up from her candies, and Bryn and Cara stopped yelling at each other.

“What do we do now?” Becca asked. The technowhatisis-DFD-thingie was still there.

“Well, trying to get it hasn’t worked,” Mish mused.

“So, what, are we supposed to just stay here and hope it comes to us or something?” Bryn asked sarcastically.

Mish and Kat both shrugged. “Sure,” Mish said.

Cara snickered at Bryn, who stuck her tongue out. “Why do we even want it?” Bryn asked mulishly.

The rest of SG-13 all exchanged glances. “I forget,” Kat said.

“Me too,” Mish admitted.

“Yeah, me too,” Becca agreed.

“I forget too,” Cara confessed.

Bryn sighed. “Then can we just go home?” she asked.

The rest of the girls all exchanged glances again. “Sure,” Kat said once the non-verbal communication was over.

“So where’s the Stargate?” Mish asked.

“Oh, *that’s* why we wanted the technowhatisis!” Kat murmured. No one paid her any attention.

“Um, that way?” Becca suggested, pointing.

“That’s a tree, Becca,” Cara told her.

“Well, maybe it’s behind the tree?” Becca suggested.
