GateCon Review

Alli: The only spoilers we got was that in 2010, Amanda and Teryl wear dresses -- and MS's episode (2nd to the last) is the "biggest" since COTG. No RDA or MS, both home with the family. Amanda, Teryl, Chris, JR, Jay, Don, Peter, Tony... they were all AMAZING.

Don was extremely... distinguished, very composed. First guest, and everyone was very courteous to him... he was just a sweetheart. GM got a few hugs from him, had a conversation about school with him, had her pic taken... he was neat :-)

Next up were Peter (Apophis) and Tony (Bray'tac) -- Peter had them rolling in the aisle. He has the neatest Jamacian accent and the greatest smile... and he LOVES Apophis. Thinks he's basically the best character on the show, was bad-mouthing Ra all weekend. He was asked about Ap. relations with the other characters. Said there's the thing with Teal'c because of his betrayal, with Daniel because of Sha're, "I think he just wants to get rid of O'Neill all together"...
The audience then yelled "What about Sam?!"
To which he answered "Well, I think he kinda likes her."
"As we say in Gou'ald: She's hot"
He showed us how he can roll his eyes back into his head. He talked about serpants song, MS had an egyptologist script out dialouge... while he got to blabber gibberish. He was very proud of his abs... he has a great body.
Tony wasn't very talkative, but he did tell us about his cat :-) and how he thinks deep inside, Bray'tac has this dark side and one day he's just going to go off, and there were so many "awwww..."s as he talked about Bray'tac and Teal'c's relationship.
Sweet guy. NO accent whatsoever.

Next up were Brad, Robert, Michael Greenburg, and Peter Dooohh... you know, I should probably wait for AJ to tell you... DON'T tell her I told you, but she talked to Brad about the dear brad letters recited the first ones... about Teal'c's caterpillar and she got a little something for you, Beth :-) but I'm not at liberty to discuss
Heather managed to corner Brad as well... and even though it did not come up at all during the interviews, she asked him about the ship stuff :-):-) She asked what was going on with it, and fearfully he asked "It depends? are you a shipper?"
To which she excited answered yes... and he basically said that obvious they can't do anything against regs at the moment... but it's going to be very apparent that they care deeply for each other -- but again, nothing will be actively done with it... until the END

Next up are JR (Martouf) and Jay (Kawalsky). JR, of course, is still displaying his chest to one and all. Jay looks like he just rolled out of bed. But that's not all they displayed -- oh no! Then came the infamous question: "Boxers or briefs?"
And did they just TELL us which it was? Oh no.
They felt mightily inclined to SHOW us
They both stand up and unzip.
Jay: "Briefs, and to the left"
JR: "Briefs, and a little bit of both"
That was the highlight of their segment.
But was the fun over? No it was not... because, you see, the audience had driven JR to distraction about how he never got to have a 'romantic' scene with Amanda, who he apparently idolizes. When asked if Martouf liked Sam for Sam or Sam for Jolinar, he said "Actually, I think he liked Amanda"
The thing is, Amanda and Teryl are due to speak next Amanda and Teryl come in... and Jay jumps to his feet, pointing to JR and yelling at Amanda "Will you please just kiss this guy!?" and boy, did she! and then Teryl got in on the action... and between the 4 of them, there was a whole lot of kissing and hugging going on.
So JR and Jay get booted off by Amanda and Teryl... who are some of the most... silly, giggly, bizarre women I've seen.
Teryl is "Turtle", and Amanda is "Gazelle"

GM: They are awesome people! very sincere and nice
Alli: They talked about the "Puff and ruffle" which is what the guys do whenever a pretty woman guests... off the scale with Tok'ra Spice.
Amanda said she was pretty intimidated and put off by VA, being this "beautiful woman"
but she said the guys gave them lots of hugs to make up for it

GM: yeah, apparently the producers had had a meeting about getting a beautiful woman on the show... poor Amanda said she felt threatened

Alli: GM asked them what their fave scenes were :-) and I think the one they agreed on was... 100D Sam and Janet talking about missing Jack and also the girl power scenes in Hathor let's see, GM, anything about Amanda and Teryl's session that I'm forgetting? Trying to be chronological here

GM: hm...didya tell them about the nifty free pens? and free keychain?

Alli: we got nifty free pens and keychains! :-)
GM: and they weren't those cheap plastic ones either

Alli: ok... so i don't even know where to start with Chris... no wait. Yes I do.

GM: the t-shirt

Alli: he'd already heard that the ladies were asking about underwear
His answer to 'boxers or briefs' -- "Neither"
Jaffa apparently go commando
Someone got him a shirt... black t-shirt with white writing that said "Junior" ...and pointed down.
Pointing to his stomach, but if you didn't know what junior is all about... :-)
He took his shirt off right there on stage and put in on.
And they discussed "Golf, Scotch, and sex" we were ALL rowdy by then and he was loving it

OK, skipping the autograph and photo sessions... which were incredible, they are all such terrific, personable people... and to the auction after the banquet
they were giving away posters, CDs, scripts... all signed

GM: the auction...

Alli: Lola bought a poster for $500. A german SG1 poster
well... the fun began with... what was it, gm? The Walker jacket?

GM: yeah, it all started when a Jacket worn by Walker, wasn't quite generating as much money as they hoped
Alli: Amanda puts on this blue Walker: TX ranger jacket to model... while Teryl does the auctioning they decided that if it had Amanda smell on it, it would go for higher

GM: so, she started *working* it

Alli: so she's *cough*drunkenly*cough* prancing around the room...

GM: rubbing herself...

Alli: uh-huh, certain areas of herself...while Teryl eggs everyone on "You know where she's rubbing that jacket..." At one point Amanda yells something about "These are my breasts!"
It ended up going for... for hundreds of dollars
They stripped Jay and had him model a vest... pretty nice :-) and I don't mean the vest
And then they had a crew jacket for one show or another... and this is where Teryl goes to rip JR's shirt off, so he can wear it. The front is velcro, but the sleeves are buttoned. So, now we have a shirtless *JR*, prancing around the room and on tabletops wearing this jacket, while the bids go up, up...
I think it was Amanda who offered... if the bids got to a certain level, you could take the jecket off of him with your teeth.
"JR! Teeth!"
Then there was the Francis F Copalla (sp?) script that was going pretty low until both Amanda and JR put on lipstick and KISSED it, cheek to cheek
and I think the rest of them did too... remembering Teryl lipsticking Don... well now JR has this lipstick on... he has to wipe it off, right?

GM: <-- has *everything* exclusively on video
Alli: The napkin he used to wipe it off goes for several hundred dollars
By far the creepiest moment for me was... well, either Amanda teasing everyone by lifting up Peter W's shirt for all to see, or JR and Teryl leaning on each other, with their arms around each other because at midnight, after being up for 18 hours, they start looking more like Marty and Janet

Alli: GM, would u like to do the honor of describing what we got our beloved Amanda ON TAPE saying?
