| Background: |
Grelin was born into the Zarah Clan, one of the lesser powers of the Kess Rith. Their Dominator had pitted their clan against many over it's long, unrewarding history and over time, its power began to erode. Poor tactics and circumstances had come upon the Clan when Grelin was a young warrior and honor was becoming difficult to achieve. Some warriors took their own lives rather than live in shame but Grelin, the oldest of the litter felt his younger siblings needed to see a Zarah clansman achieve something worthy. He left the Clan and his homeworld to go into the great unknown with only the word of a fellow Zarah warrior that spoke of possible employment and honor in the Royal Guard of the Falcarian Stellar Kingdom. For Grelin, to serve a foreign king over his own Dominator was as close to sacrilege as he could get and he felt ashamed. When he arrived on Falcaria and proved his worth, the benevolent King Davyd accepted his service and he became one of six KessRith guards, four from his own Clan. Grelin was the first of his people to become a pec, junior officer of Falcaria's army, singlehandedly protecting the King during a Garos Party attempt on the soverign's life. His Falcarian superiors were jealous of him and by the time the Alberag War began, transferred him to PSIS -Prince Sword Imperial Security, responsible for the crown prince's security. Prince Sword, who had returned home after years of piracy was not very regal and initially dismissed the need of the professional guards but his father forced the issue. Grelin was made a meer, senior officer but still under the command of a Falcarian as the battles waged on. The six year war was fierce as the felinoid Alberag fought ferociously and with their bio-engineered Jaharabese soldiers/assassins began to take some ground. By 2336, the Royal government had taken to the second capital of Falca for fear of imminent invasion of the homeworld. Falca was instead attack by the powerful Borg which assimilated the inhabitants, destroying the defending fleet and forcing the Prince's warship where Grelin was, to flee. They entered a wormhole which deposited them into hostile Romulan hands and Grelin lost contact with his liege, being sent to Internment Camp 47. A prisoner riot gave Grelin the chance to escape but only three others would eventually cross the Neutral Zone with him. He learned of the Prince again many years later, after wandering around the Orion colonies, serving as a mercenary, trying to find some honor. He left for the Federation and again gave his service to his liege, bound by his oath to the long since assimilated King. Prince Sword reluctantly allowed the KessRith to come with him and he still serves to this day. |

Grelin is an honorable being who has replaced his former loyalties of Clan and homeworld to the foreigner who would be king. It was a difficult choice but finds the Prince a larger improvement over the Dominator of his Zarah Clan. He will defend the Prince with his dying breath and his loyalty cannot be questioned. Being a centauroid, he takes the humanoid living conditions he is often stuck with in stride, only complaining to himself. Dr. Suan has a biobed built specifically for him and others of the crew have done things to make Grelin's stay more pleasant for him. He often compliment's ship security. He has added Prince Jason and Ryak fforbes to his list for his protection but finds Prince Sword's nephew, Jason's lack of royal tradition, disheartening. |
| Interests: | Grelin's main interest is protecting the remnants of the Falcarian Royal Family. However beyond combat training, he has acquired a taste for Earth's classical music though listens to it in the privacy of his quarters. |
