Background:
Ros Indara was born on Bajor, where she lived with her parents, who were Bajoran Resistance Members. Her Mother, Reena Harras, had left Betazed some years earlier, against her parents' wishes, to marry her Father, Ros Myal. Reena's parents consequently disowned her, and so, when first Indara was born, and the Chalandra, Reena felt that she had no choice but to bring them both up on Bajor. Both Indara and Chalandra were brough up in the resistance, and taught both computer operations and engineering to a high level of skill.
At the age of 10, Indara and her sister (then 5 yrs old) were caught in a sonic pulse explosion - and apparent accident. Indara survived, although Chalandra died within 24 hours while under medical care. Indara suffered an almost complete loss of hearing from the pulse and now prefers to communicate either telepathically, or using sign. Unfoortunately, due to the constraints of her career, she is rarely able to do either.
Due to the mental trauma of the death of her sister, Indara ran away from home two years later. She returned to Betazed and lived happily with her grandparents, who immediatly took her in when she returned. She lived with them until 2370, when she graduated the Betazoid Institute of Psychology. In 2370 Indara joined Starfleet Academy, on the specialised Counsellor Training, in the hope that she could become the Counsellor of a starship. She graduated in 2371 and was assigned to Starfleet's Rehab Centre on Lunar. She took the first opportunity she could and applied for the position of Counsellor on the Hunter.
She survived the destruction of the Amon-Re A during the Battle of Atzae, 2380 and shortly there after found a new assignment aboard the recently arrived USS Hood.
