Short Bios

Commanding Officer, USS Oberon, NCC-69747: Captain Jerran Terel

Captain Jerran came to terms a long time ago with his dual Vulcan/Bajoran heritage.  He was raised on Vulcan by his diplomat mother after his father left to fight the Cardassians in the Bajoran resistance, but he still decided to learn of the religion and teaching of the Prophets.  A veteran of the Dominion war, Jerran is still somewhat haunted by the destruction of two ships he served on, the Feynman and the Kirov.  The Kirov was lost when the Breen attacked San Francisco, and Jerran also had the misfortune of loosing his beloved partner, LT St John Briggs.  He has been in command of the Oberon for four years now.

First Officer, USS Oberon: Commander t'Jon

t'Jon joined the crew of the Oberon shortly before Captain Jerran took command.  At the time, she was the Chief of Security, and she just recently rose to the position of First Officer.  Where Jerran will usually err on the side of diplomacy when it comes to conflict, t'Jon is a believer in the old adage of a loaded phaser being the best diplomat.  Though they are often at odds about tactical decisions, Jerran and t'Jon thoroughly respect each other.

Second Officer/Operations Manager, USS Oberon: LCDR Trevor McBride

Commander McBride came aboard the Oberon just after Jerran took command.  He started out as the ship's Chief Engineer, and has a very bad habit of trying to give the current CEO, LT Parker, advice on how to keep the engines running smoothly.  He is generally an easy going, laid back sort of guy who enjoys spending his off hours in the lounge socializing with the rest of the crew.

Chief Flight Control Officer, USS Oberon: LT Jennifer Cartwright

LT Cartwright is one of Jerran's oldest friends in Starfleet.  She actually introduced him to St John Briggs at the academy, with whom Jerran would eventually have a passionate, but star crossed relationship.  She's almost as good of a pilot as Jerran is, but she usually doesn't have the confidence in herself to see it.  Secretely, she's always harbored a disappointment that her relationship with Jerran never grew to something more than a close friendship.  Before joining the crew of the Oberon, Cartwright commanded a fighter squadron during the Dominion War.

Navigation Specialist, USS Oberon: LCDR (Honorary) Belock
One of the most enigmatic members of Oberon's crew, the Medusan navigator Commander Belock won't even admit his true age.  From their many conversations over the years, Jerran has gotten a glimpse of this being's extraordinary life and mind, a life which Jerran estimates has spanned at least 6000 years.  Despite his age and experience, he still has a passion for exploring space and meeting new lifeforms.  As a Medusan, he has an uncanny knack for feeling the ebb and flow of space and time around him, allowing him to navigate without much outside sensory input.  When Starfleet started exploring the Gamma Quadrant via the Bajoran wormhole, he offered his services as a navigator.  He was assigned to the USS Feynman, where he met a young pilot named Ensign Jerran Terel.  Belock helped Jerran tune his Vulcan psionic skills in order to communicate with each other without any external machinery.

Chief of Security, USS Oberon: LCDR Jenna D'Sora

CDR D'Sora with Enterprise-D 2nd Officer LCDR Data

Commander D'Sora started her Starfleet career as a tactical specialist on board the USS Enterprise.  She had a special knack for getting into relationships with emotionally unavailable men, such as the Enterprise's android second officer, LCDR Data.  Shortly after her affair with Commander Data, she transferred to the USS Antietem, where she served under Security Chief t'Jon.  When t'Jon was offered the position of Oberon's XO, she recommended D'Sora for the job of chief of security.  Though she is new to commanding a department, t'Jon has the utmost confidence in her.

Chief Engineering Officer, USS Oberon: LT Lonewind Parker
Having grown up on the Dorvan V colony in the Demilitarized Zone, LT Parker was one of the first of a group of Starfleet officers who decided to resign their commission to join the Maquis.  Because of the Dominion, however, he was one of only a handful of Maquis who survived the war.  Due to the fact that he never committed any crimes against Federation targets during the war, Parker was given a full pardon and was offered his commission, which he accepted.  As a member of the group of people formally known as North American Indians, LT Parker is highly devoted to practicing the traditions of his people in order to honor his ancestors.  He has a slightly antagonistic relationship with the ship's Second Officer, Commander McBride, who is the former chief engineer who can't seem to stay out of engineering.  To get back at Commander McBride's occasional medaling, LT Parker will sometimes stage Indian rituals to summon the spirit of the warp core whenever McBride arrives.  Parker joined the crew in time to help with the recent refit, and was instrumental in writing the software governing the ship's new variable geometry warp nacelles.

Chief Science Officer, USS Oberon: LT Mirani

Cadet Mirani

The Benzite LT Mirani is one of the newest senior officers, only having been out of the Academy for a year now.  She completed her PhD dissertation on Benzar just before boarding the Oberon.  She specialized in high energy physics and cosmology.  She doesn't have much of a social life outside of her work, something the ship's Deltan Counselor, LT Devore, is always trying to change.  Mirani's cousin, Hoya, was a pilot assigned to Deep Space 9 when she was killed on a mission to the Gamma quadrant in 2373 where Captain Sisko and his crew was able to recover a crashed Jem'Hadar attack ship.

Chief Medical officer, USS Oberon: LT t'Lera

LT t'Lera started her Starfleet career 8 years ago as a nurse on board the USS Moscow.  She just recently obtained her MD, and was assigned to the Oberon just prior to the refit.

Counselor, USS Oberon: LT Devore
As a Deltan, LT Devore is one of the warmest and most open members of the crew, a great attribute for a counselor.  Ever since meeting, LT Devore and Commander McBride have been somewhat fascinated by each other and have developed a friendship, but LT Devore's cultural inhibition against taking advantage of a sexually immature species, as Deltans refer to humans, has prevented them from doing much more than just playful flirting.

Commanding Officer, Rihannsu Starbase Veloris: khre'Riov D'Ana t'Ehrowhin

khre'Riov t'Ehrowhin has always been something of a nonconformist in Romulan society.  Even before the fall of the government due to the Reman uprising and the loss of the Tal Shiar fleet in the Gamma Quadrant, t'Ehrowhin was a vocal advocate for a return to the old ways of Romulus, the ways of Mnhei'Sahe, that were practiced before the Tal Shiar started taking more control almost 80 years ago.  One of her greatest heroes is khre'Riov Ael t'Rllaillieu, who predicted the dishonorable course Romulus was taking over a hundred years ago.  khre'Riov t'Rllaillieu helped the crew of the USS Enterprise, NCC-1701, on many occasions. She was branded a traitor when she stole the fabled Saharien sword from the Romulan Senate.  t'Ehrowhin was lucky to have an ally in the Senate, namely her father, who kept the Tal Shiar from exiling her for her eccentricities.

Tal Shiar Operative, Rihannsu Starbase Veloris: Major L'Daia t'Khellian
Major t'Khellian and khre'Riov t'Ehrowhin started out at the Romulan military academy as close friends.  Upon graduation, however, that friendship turned into bitter rivalry as they both went their separate ways.  Despite the disastrous defeat of the Tal Shiar by the Dominion, they do have some support in the Senate and military, as they were always very effective at obtaining information.  Though they are now much more focused towards external threats than before, t'Ehrowhin still resents having her old rival here as a blatant spy for the Tal Shiar, and is sure that t'Khellian is vying for her position permanently.

Commanding Officer, USS Belerophon: Commander Stark Keller

CDR Stark Keller

Commander Stark started his military career in the Bajoran Militia, where he was stationed on Deep Space 9 under Commander Benjamin Sisko.   Eventually, Stark was promoted to Major and transferred to the Bajoran defense fleet.  Stark commanded a Bajoran assault ship during Colonel Kira Nerys' blockade of Bajor, staged in order to prevent the Romulans from using one of the Bajoran moons as a weapons storage base.  When Bajor was admitted into the Federation a few years ago, the Militia was absorbed into Starfleet, and Stark was granted a Starfleet comission.  He has just recently taken command of the Bellerophon, an Intrepid class starship.  Commander Stark has an older sister, Stark Kera, who serves aboard the Oberon as the Operations department Chief Petty Officer.

Commanding Officer, USS Ptolemy: Commander Cirol

Commander Cirol commands the Nova class USS Ptolemy.  As the ship has never seen combat before and is not as tactically strong as the Oberon or Bellerophon, she was reluctant to take this assignment in Romulan space.  However, she understands the diplomatic importance of the mission, and has confidence that her fellow Starfleet officers will watch the Ptolemy's back.  She harbors no such illusions about the Romulans, however.
