Gemstones

Charging a stone for a specific purpose and caring it in your pocket is like having a piece of magick with you all the time. Using a stone during a spell is like sending your spell through an amplifier. Like everything else it need to be cleans, blessed and charged for a specific purpose. This is called programming the stone.

Here is a list of the stones I have and what I would use them for. Most of this information is from The Illustrated Guide to Crystals by JudyHall. Scott Cunningham's Encyclopedia of Crystal, Gem & Metal Magic is a very detailed source, but few pictures. For great pictures and easy to find information, I use The Illustrated Guide to Crystals by Judy Hall.  I'm still looking for a better/more pictures only book on crystals and gemstones. My personal use of stones is for Chakra work, protection and to change my mood.

Amazonite - intuition, discernment, healing, psychic abilities

Amber - wisdom, balance, patience

Amethyst - psychic abilities, protection, healing, cleanses, balance, calming, transmutes negative energy

Apache Tear - heals sorrow, protection, absorbs negativity so it needs to be cleans (washed or buried) often. This is a good stone  to have if you work in a negative enviroment.

Bloodstone - healing, purification, balance

Blue Lace Agate - calming, spiritual, healing

Calcite - energy amplifier, psychic abilities, communication

Cat's Eye - confidence, grounding, psychic abilities

Celestite- attunement to angelic energy, highest vibrations

Charoite - cleans aura, grounding, healing, transmutes negative energy to positive

Citrine - grounding, courage, healing

Clear Quartz - amplifies energy, cleans and balances charkas. I could write a book on all that this stone is good for. It does it all.

Green Aventurine - activates charkas, cleansing, protection, healing

Hematite - grounding, protection, balance

Jet - protection, courage, shielding

Labradorite - protection, aligns charkas, wisdom

Malachite - clarifies emotions, cleans and activates charkas

Moonstone - intuition, cleansing, and psychic abilities

Obsidian - protects, self control, transmutes negative energy

Onyx - strength, aligns with higher powers

Red Jasper - quick thinking, protection, grounding

Rose Quartz - lover, friendship, healing

Selenite - attunement to angelic energy

Snowflake Obsidian - balance and protection

Snowy Quartz - learning, inner wisdom, letting go

Smokey Quartz - psychic abilities, spiritual grounding, exorcism (releasing negative energy)

Sodalite - logic, intuition, balance

Tiger's Eye - (great for boys and men) - Serious grounding. Physical, mental and spiritual. Protection.
