Lighting the Yule Log
Candle colors in order from left to right- Green, Silver, White, Gold, Red
Light the Green candle and say - I light this candle in honor of Eternal Life. As I kindle the Yule flame, so begins the longest night of the year. Even in this cold season, the Earth is alive and fertile beneath her cloak. Tonight the Earth renews Herself and with your birth we too are reborn. (pause to meditate)

Light the Silver candle - I light this candle to honor Mary, Mother of Jesus, and Son of God. Hail Mary, full of grace. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Of all the women of all time, you were the one chosen to bring into the world the Son of God.

Light the White candle - I light this candle in honor of the birth of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Christ my Lord, Son of the living God, light from light. You life here has shown me the example I must follow. Let your love shine through me so that all may see you light. (pause to meditate)

Light the Gold candle - I light this candle in honor of God my Father. With you there is all things. Without you there is nothing. Help me to learn the lessons you put before me. Let your gentle spirits lead me down the path that will bring me closer to you. (pause to meditate)

Light the Red candle - I light this candle in honor of the new year to come. I give thanks to you, Oh Holy One, for the blessings of the past year. I look forward to the new year with hope for a better future and the courage to make it so. I ask from the lighting of the Yule log to grant me good health, prosperity and happiness. (pause to meditate)
