Christmas Poetry |
Christmas Tree I awoke this morning Happy as could be 'Cause today is the day When we choose our tree! We will all go together And look until we drop For a tree that will hold Our angel at its top! The tree must be special And it must be tall and strong To stand inside our living room Guarding presents all month long! So off we go to choose our tree Can you tell that I'm excited? Can't wait until it's in our home Decorated, trimmed, and lighted! -Thena Smith |

'Twas the night before Christmas And the tree was all trimmed We had had our egg nog And sung all our hymns... So we turned on the switch To light up the tree And with eyes fastened to it What did we see! Not one little light Of the three-hundred or so Was casting a twinkle Or even a glow! We sat there in silence No one wanting to say That there would be no lights On this Christmas Day. So we tested and tried Till we were blue in the face And not one little twinkle Did our tree grace... Then finally as if by magic As I turned one around And tightened a twinkly light That was low to the ground... A glimmer there appeared Much to my delight And the tree once more glowed And was festive that night! And there was hugging and smiling And much happiness too May all of your lights Beam brightly for you! |
Reindeer Food My child feeds the reindeer Late on Christmas Eve Some very special reindeer food Because she does believe That Santa's not the only one Who needs a midnight snack She wants to fill their tummies So next year they'll bring him back! |
