My Place

Blue sky above, green grass below,
and colours all around.
Swiftly here, dost the river flow,
with a peaceful bubbling sound.
Summer day, carressing heat,
Birds are sweetly singing.
Grass feels soft beneath your feet,
we wait for what eve's bringing.
Sun now sets in blaze of glory,
slowly dark descends.
What it brings, another story,
broken hearts it mends.
Clear dark sky, a velvet quilt,
Lit up by a bright full moon.
Shadows fall like something spilt,
We watch for what must come soon.
Appear now slowly, jewels of the sky,
and gift us with your light.
As we sit and wonder why,
Your beautiful gift so bright.
I describe here, my secret place,
A place known just to me.
One beautiful stop in an ugly race,
open your eyes, and see.
