January 12, 2006- OE Part 3
If you know how to send a message in OE, eventually you will want to attach or insert items to your letters, or you will want to add music or color to your messages. You can do all that in OE and much, much more. Let’s see what we can learn today. Let’s look at insert; If you click on it, you will see that you can insert files, or pictures, or a signature that you would have made up. Most people want to send a picture or a recipe or an article that they have scanned. First, make the space where you write the message active by clicking on it. Then click on Insert Picture; a window opens and you have to browse to your picture source; click on browse; a new window opens; click on the little arrow ; click on My Documents; click on My Pictures; click on the folder where the picture is; click on the picture; click OK. The picture is now included in your message. That goes well for a small picture but when you have large pictures, or more than one to send, most people use the attach button, so let’s go back to our message and do that instead. In the New Message window, look for Attach at the top; click on it; the same thing happens as for insert, a window opens and you have to browse to your picture. Do that; and that’s it; it’s attached; do you see up over your message now it says attach and the name of the picture is there along with its size? There you go; If you have more than one picture to send, click attach again and do it again as often as you need to. You can use insert and attach anytime while you are preparing your message, and you can use both… OK a little tip; supposing you were sending this beautiful picture to 10 different people. They don’t necessarily know one another’s address and may not want others to know their address, why not use bcc, instead of To for addressing. It’s just as easy, it works the same as to and it hides addresses from one another of your recipients. Cool Huh? See you next time. 2006-01-13 00:01:11 GMT
