January 15, 2006-saving, font, format

If someone sends you something and
they have inserted it in the email,to save it you have to right click on
it (a picture, for instance), click on "save picture as", browse to where
you want to put the picture and click save. Now, if you receive an
attachment that you want to save, on the right-hand side of the message at
the top you will find what looks like a paper clip. Click on it, and click
"save attachments" browse to put it where you want and save. You could
also have scrolled to the bottom of your message and it would have been
there and you could have done what you did earlier with the inserted
one. An important thing to remember: if you are not 100% sure that the
attachment doesn't contain a virus, you should always scan it before
clicking on it to look at it. How do you do that? Go to where you saved
the attachment;right click and click on "scan with your anti-virus
program"; give it time to do it's work; look at the result; close the
anti-virus window and enjoy your attachment.Personally, I scan all my
attachments before opening them; it takes only a few
seconds. |

OK, now I would like to go back to
writing an email. Open OE; click on create mail; click on writing area
to activate it; right click and choose "FONT"; Now, from this window you
can change the style of writing you are going to use; you can change the
kind of Font you will use, the size, the color... ok, supposing you
already wrote your message and just decided after the fact that you wanted
to change the font...all is not lost...drag your cursor along all the
words (or go to edit at the top and click on "select all"); now right
click on the selected words and change the font. You don't have to do
all the words either; you can do just a few,or a whole paragraph or
whatever... There is lots more that can be done with fonts but that is
for another day. Too tired to go on? Nah!!!Let's do a little bit
more. Go back to your New message; click on "Format" at the top; click
on background;click on color; you see colors there; if you click on one,
the background of your message will change to that color. You could also
have a picture for your background but there is a bit of work to getting
them to look good so we'll talk about that later; also, as you can see,
you could add music to your background; that is nice when it is a special
note; generally, the music is in "midi" form because it is not too large a
file to carry in an email. Obviously, you need midis on your computer
before you can include them in an email. We can do that later. Finally,
I want to show you one other trick; In your new message window, click on
"apply stationery"; now, click on one of them in the list;see your
background change; the list is short and if you enjoy having different
backgrounds, there is more where those came from...we'll tackle that
later. I am sure that you have plenty of food for thought here; play
with it; don't forget, if there is something more you want to know on the
subject, just let me know...Ciao for now....
