Go to accessories/entertainment and click on sound recorder; click on File/open and browse to your wav file; click on it; now, in sound recorder, go to file/properties and click on convert. Set Format to "mpeg-3" and attribute to "8kbits-11,025 HZ Mono.Click ok and ok again. Now, go to file/ save as; change the name a bit,( add revised to it, for example), so you won't overwrite the original. Place it in the same folder. Sometimes it distorts the quality so much that you can't use it. If you don't like it, delete it and move on. If you like it, you have a wav with much less kbs. OK, now for a few shortcuts for you: To bypass recycle bin: shift+delete to choose scatterd items:ctrl+click to choose items in a row:shift+click to check a program:ctrl+alt+delete (once) to shut down:ctrl+alt+delete (twice) Did you know? 1 megabyte=1000 kilobytes 1 kilobytes=1000 bytes Do you use a zip file? When someone sends you something that is zipped you can unzip it (open it); sometimes you might want to send someone something and it would be very large; you can zip it up; it will decrease the size. All your recipient has to do is unzip it. If you don't have a zip program, you will eventually need one.They are free; do a search on Google to see the most popular ones. I have always used the same one and it isn't the most popular but I got used to it and have always kept it. It is called "Big Zipper".

Ok,a few more shortcuts: ctrl+c=copy ctrl+v=paste ctrl+alt+delete brings up the program running and you can click end task to stop it. We usually do this when a program is frozen. Make sure you don't click twice or it will shut your computer down. If you have someone you write to all the time and would like to have their address right on your desktop,follow these instructions:rightclick on your desktop; choose New; choose shortcut; in the first window, write: mailto: and the email address; click next; in this window, write the name of your friend; click finish.
