I discovered a very easy way to unblock a program from your pop up program that comes with Windows;
it was in the instructions for Launchcast at Yahoo!;(more on Launcast below)
"easy pop up unblock":in IE,
Go to tools/pop up blocker/settings; put in the url of the page you wish to unblock and click "add";
Ok, about Launchcast---it is a fun radio with all kinds of listening enjoyment; there is a section for Canadian listeners;
You can choose the kind of music you want; you do that by editing the choices of music you want;
when songs are playing on "your" station, you rate them;
the more you rate the songs, the more you will get the kind of music you want.
In passing, let me give you the link for a cool place to store your pics:
Photo Bucket.
Have you ever wanted to print what's on your screen? Here's how:
Click the PrtScr (print screen) button on your keyboard; This takes a "snapshot" of your screen.
You then have to paste it in your imaging software (or word processor), and crop it and save or print it.
I'm always talking about computer maintenance; I know that you must be fed up of hearing this; however, I consider it of extreme importance and I will repeat myself again:
Steps:
1. Make sure you run your antivirus scan.
2. You should also run your Live Updates for antivirus and Windows.
3. You should have a good adware/spyware program and run it for updates, and to scan your computer at least once a week. I have spybot and ad-aware.
4. Run a disk cleanup; click on the My Computer.Right-click the C: drive and choose Properties. This will bring up a pie chart of how much space is being used and how much you have left. It has all kinds of information there about your disk space; click on the Disk Cleanup button and let it run.
5. Go to start/ control panel/Add/Remove programs;if there are any programs there you don't use, click on them, one at a time and click remove.
6. Go to My Documents and clean those files of anything you no longer need or want. Do the same in your email program.
7. Go to IE;click on Tools/ Internet Options; delete cookies (if you choose to) and temporary files and clear history.
8. Delete unused icons on your desktop.
9. Empty your trash can on your desktop (recycle bin).
10. I strongly suggest you back-up your "stuff' in case of a crash.
I have a friend who makes puzzles on the web and sends them out daily for us to make.
She got her program at Brainsbreaker.
It is not free, but not very expensive. I have often been tempted to buy it, but I haven't done it yet; I'm always too busy to get into that, it seems.
Ciao for now.
