Chapter 9
After flying for a short time, Phoenix came back down to the ground to speak with the others. She seemed imensely happy to be Avian/Saiyan again.
"I even have my claws and fangs back!" She exclaimed merrily.
The Ronins looked at her like she was crazy. The other Guardians looked like they were just as happy as she was.
Seeing the confused looks on the Ronins' faces, Aqua decided to explain. "Like we said before, we are not human. Both of Phoenix's parents had fangs and she gets claws from her mother. The claws are especially handy because they can cut through nearly anything."
Phoenix's head jerked up and her tail began to lash violently. A wolf-like growl began to rise from her throat. "Danger! An attack! In the city!"
All of the ten elemental warriors began the journey to the city. Aided by armors and by training, the ten arrived at Toyama in a matter of minutes. The site that greeted them was far from pleasant. There were shadowy demon creatures destroying everything in their way. That whole section of the city was decimated, people and buildings alike. The ten warriors paired off on instinct. Torrent with Aquia. Strata and Sky Dancer. Hardrock and Terra. Halo with Thundera. And Wildfire with Phoenix.
Torrent and Aquia started the assault. Torrent brought out his yari and Aquia brought out a blue trident.
"Super Wave Smasher!"
"Water Trident Ocean Wave!"
The twin beams of water rushed at the shadow demons. Several demons were destroyed but there were more to take their place. Strata and Sky Dancer took their turns with their bow and daggers.
"Arrow Shock Wave!"
"Wind Daggers Star Blast!"
The blue beam from Strata's bow and the spinning energy star from Sky Dancer's daggers joined to wipe out more of the enemy. Halo and Thundera went to join in on the action. Halo took out his no-datchi sword and Thundera brought out a pink whip.
"Thunder Bolt Cut!"
"Thunder Whip Lightning Lasher!"
The pink and green bolts of electricity joined to blow up serveral more demons. Hardrock and Terra were about to test their strength against the demons as well, but a laugh from above stopped them.
A nega Avian was hovering above them. It was a male, the first male nega Avian they had seen. He wore a pair of black pants and a brown vest. His head was topped by a shock of neon green hair. His eyes were a forest green.
"Nice of all of you to come. Hope you enjoy your funeral. You may call me Tani for the remaining five minutes of your miserable lives."
He attacked. Phoenix was the only one fast enough to counter him. They began battling so fast that none of the other nine warriors could even see them. Then, Phoenix slammed into the ground, creating a crater in the broken asfault. Tani stood over her, readying an energy ball that he would use to kill the Guardian leader. Phoenix prepared herself to die with honor, all the while cursing herself at how out of practice she was.
The other Guardians and the Ronin Warriors new that there was no way to save Phoenix. Tani was too fast. All waited as Tani drew back his hand and sent the energy ball at Phoenix's prone form.
It never made it.
Standing between Tani and Phoenix was a young man. His white, spikey hair was in an almost mushroom cut style. His piercingly dark blue eyes spoke volumes about how angry he was at the moment. He was wearing loose black pants with white hiking boots with silver ties. He was also wearing some kind of black and silver form fitting armor with flared shoulder guards. On the left side of his chest was a silver badge. It looked just like the bird symbol on Phoenix's chest and the one on her locket.
The most notable thing about the man was the pure white caped wings draped around his shoulders.
The mysterious young man put his hands in front of himself and called out, "Lupansolerei Pai Ra Ken!" A dark, fiery beam in the shape of a wolf shot from his hands and engulfed Tani. When it cleared, Tani was no more.
"It's nice to finally be able to see you, Princess Karamiako Solena Son."
"Dagris Lupan!" She jumped up and hugged the taller man. The other Guadians seemed to recognize him as well and began to croud around him and Phoenix.
"Can we ask what the hell is going on here?" Kento asked, not so politly.
