Friendship Tapestry
We've been to each a faceless name;
Mere words upon a screen.
Unhindered by appearances,
Just clues from which to glean
The mental image of a face
From sentences we've read.
Insights into a stranger's life,
That start to weave the thread
To form a friendship tapestry
Our lives so far apart,
Are intertwined together
With threads straight from the heart.
We've worked our cloth in darkness.
The colours were unknown.
Our yarns were different textures,
But over time it's grown.
Not bothered by the details,
Or pattern laid just right,
We've sewn our threads together
At times, late in the night.
If somehow we could grasp it
And hold it up to see,
We'd marvel at its beauty
Our friendship tapestry.
