Castleton, a truly charming little hamlet perched on the edge of hills, filled with stone buildings and a stream rushing down from the hills is incased in stone walls and wanders through the lovely little town. This was one of my favorite small villiages. Outside of town is a large section of cliffs, where you will see hangliders swirling down like a dozen giant colored buzzards. |

Lyme Park is located in Stockport and is tucked away in a large tract of park like land. The house had its beginnings 550 years ago and has been added onto and redecorated through victorian times. I didnt get a chance to go in the house but did enjoy the grounds a bit one rainy fall day, and had tea in the tearoom. |

Buxton, a city built by roman armies around a mineral spring, had its baths and its drinking water famed for its cuative properties. The tower atop a hill leans a bit, but looking through its arched windows you can see across the rock walled farm fields or back over the city. |

From pagan times, sacred wells and springs were decorated each spring to thank the gods for the gift of water, that tradition carries on today in these unusual decorated well heads in Buxton. |
