The final statement, the fourth sonnet in a three-sonnet sequence closes the argument of contention to the many parts of the Self: the inner balance that we all seek (though how many of us achieve?). Written many months after the original three sonnets, the style may vary slightly, especially in the allowance of a non-iambic pentameter final line. Artistic license allowed it, I thought.
The title of the sonnet, La Renaissance d’Actualité, simply sounds good. The English title, The Renewal of Self, means basically the same thing. Sometimes a poet knows precisely what to do, and giving this poem a French title separates it from the other three; it sets it apart as the final conclusion. Nonetheless, I myself have yet achieve the unification of the disparity in my Self. I suppose we all strive.
