VEIN TO VEIN

Vein to vein
Feel the pain
Of the needle
Prick your skin
Your blood exposed
To moral woes
And moral sins

An ancient ritual
Deep and sensual
Connecting two people
Between two worlds

Mortal and divine
They two combine
An unlikely sign
Of faltering times

They don’t know
(Where) they’re about to go
But even though
Continue the show

An unearthly plane
Could drive them insane
Interest doesn’t wane
(There’s) too much to gain

Flow of blood
Between two buds
It’s no dud
(They) fall with a thud

Veins filled with the other’s blood
Soul filled with the other’s wisdom
Mind filled with the other’s acumen
Body filled with the other’s strength

They hadn’t planned
They couldn’t understand
They’d been handed
Power untapped by man

A lifelong connection they formed
They felt no need to be like the norm
They felt like they’d been reborn
They never expected to be met with scorn
