I know there are a lot of people around the world and on the Internet that claim that Hotaru is a Goth, just because she wears black clothes and has few friends. To me, that is typical stereotyping.
Yes, Hotaru does wear black. Maybe she likes the color. I wear black clothes, too...does that make me Goth?
Yes, Hotaru has few friends...but the ones she does have are close. It's not like she WANTED to be a loner in S...she was possessed by Mistress 9, for crying out loud! Hotaru didn't REMEMBER those bad things she supposedly did, because Mistress 9 did them. The real Hotaru wouldn't hurt a fly, and even uses her healing power to help (or try to, provided people weren't freaked out by it).
Simply put, Hotaru is a kind, frail girl with a special gift for healing. So what if she wears black or has few friends? It doesn't mean she's Goth. Her personality is too cheerful for her to be Goth, anyways. =Þ
