About the Astra
The
Astra was founded by a small group of people on August 19, 1990 in
Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Over the years, this group has often increased
and decreased in size based on the current general interest level in
Science Fiction and Fantasy. With proliferation of the Internet, the
numbers of members showing up to meetings gradually declined until few
members were showing up to meetings. Currently, efforts are being made
to make the Astra’s presence on the Internet better known through this
site, and a Yahoo! Group. Hopefully, if you are reading this, you will
want to help the ship in its effort to increase it’s membership base
once more.
