The Argo shuttle is used as a heavy transport shuttle for moving down large cargos. These cargos include, but are not limited to, relief supplies, a rover, and a squad of marines. Though warp capable, these ships are usually launched near the planet they are intended to land on. The USS Serenity carries four Argo class transports.
Eight mustang class runabouts are stationed on the USS Serenity. Faster than the Danuabe, they are also able serve as a defensive vessel if the mothership is under attack. This role is an addition to the job of long range transport of away teams and other operations groups. They are the primary auxilary craft of the USS Serenity
