In The Garden

I purchased this unfinished bird house from Michael's.
I painted the outside with acrylic paint and will add
greenery to the top at a later date. You could also
decoupage garden scenes or flower seed packets
to the outside of the house keeping with the motif.

This was the fun part! The bottom of the house pops down for decorating the inside. I used spray adhesive on the "floor" of the house and pressed dried parsley flakes down for grass. The table is a pizza supporter and the umbrella is a lollipop stick with a circular piece of material glued on top. The garden tools are also lollipop sticks and the blades are just card stock painted copper. The garden gloves are cardstock as well, with a fingernail tattoo glued on for decoration. The sunflower arrangement is stuck down in coffee for soil and the flower pot is a prize bubble like you find in machines in the front of grocery stores. The plot of seedlings about to sprout is actually sitting in a mini plastic record player that is just turned upside down. I used tea this time for soil and applied small dots of paint to symbolize early growth. Again, the tatoos were used on cardstock for my flower markers. A neat trick I discovered purely by accident was applying super glue to the "soil" and in turn getting a wet look. I was only trying to get the coffee and tea to stick into the pot and it looks like I just watered my flowers. Another 2 for 1 deal!

This was just one of those extra touches.
I drew the ladybug free hand (don't ask me
how I did that :) and made dash marks to
show Miss Lady's trail. As you can see she
has just left the graden.
