Drifting away on this iceberg of time,
silenty I walk, and I begin to climb,
to the top of this pile, of ice and snow,
I look up ahead, and I see something grow,
Out of a patch of rock and dirt,
a seedling emerges, from nothing it spurts,
I stare in awe, and wonder just how,
such a thing could survive, right here and now,
I take a look around, and all that I see,
is the ground and the ocean, looking back at me,
I stand all alone, on this snow-covered isle,
I glance at the seedling, and I just smile,
The tiny plant has now, grown much taller,
it's branches with leaves, and blossoms a bit smaller,
I look up in the limbs, of this growing tree,
it's very clear now, this plant's much taller than me,
20 yards tall, it appears to be,
I begin to climb, to find what I can see,
So I climb and climb, but then i quickly stop,
peering around, i've finally reached the top,
Suddenly the isle, begins to crumble,
the tree and I, together we tumble,
into the icy waters, no way we can survive,
I crawl on the tree's trunk, and then slowly die,
On my last breath, I peer into the floating snow,
I look up ahead, and I see something grow,
Out of a patch, of rock and dirt,
A seedling emerges, from nothing it spurts.
