Kayura ventures to the Spirit Temple everyday to honor the spirit of Anubis, the one who set her free just as the Ancient had set him free from the Dynasty. (He is also my favorite character besides Kayura.) Anubis gave his life to give Kayura life...
Anubis was born on May 5, 1551. In the beginning, Anubis served as a general during the time of war and was determined to bring honor to his family. However, as time went on Anubis cared less and less of honor and began caring only for power. Talpa sensed the cruelty within him and recruited Anubis into his legion. This is where Anubis became aware of his armor: the Armor of Cruelty. Anubis became the Warlord of Cruelty and even though he was the youngest of the four Warlords, he was the strongest and so was appointed to be their general. The is not much warmth or friendship between the Warlords; and when the battles with the Ronin Warriors began Anubis got a lot of ridicule from them whenever he failed. After a while, Anubis began to question Talpa and a new power blossomed within him. The Ancient sensed the goodness in Anubis's heart and was able to awaken this notion to him. The Ancient showed Anubis that his chu was loyalty and Talpa did not have to control him if he did not want him to. From then, Anubis joined the side to the Ronins to fight Talpa. He felt as though he owed a debt to the Ancient, so he took on the role of the Ancient (who had sacrificed his own life) and helped the Ronins in their "second" fight against Talpa. With the help of Mia and Yuli, Anubis discovered the Jewel of Life, which later turned out to be of great help. In the Nether Realm, Anubis fought with Kayura (not for the first time) and found it perplexing that the Ancient's staff would not strike her down. He came to realize that she was the last of the Ancient's clan. He vowed that he would set her free from Talpa's control-just as the Ancient had set him free. When Anubis confronted Kayura again, he realized that she had been possessed by Lord Badamon. As they fought, Anubis absorbed Kayura's power and the unleashed it on her by transferring his armor to her. This transfer process drove out Badamon from her body and Kayura was set free. Unfortunately, this process drained Anubis's life-force and he died. He sacrificed his life so Lady Kayura could get her life back. Kayura will forever be indebted to him and will cherish his memory always.
