Biography:

Born on Earth in London Mac grew up with his mother, he and his mother were alone and his mother spent much of her time at work and Mac went with her. It wad the time with his mother that introduced him to the field of medicine, his mother worked in a hospital as a doctor and it was watching her work and help the sick and injured with her skill and her heart, it was then that he decided he wanted to become a doctor.

Macartney took medical classes while in school even before entering Starfleet academy and once he was there he focused on medicine and counseling. He did well in the academy but didn’t truly excel until he was in the service and dealing with actual people and actual problems.

He has moved some in his career but much of it has been spent on the USS Hawaii and it wasn’t until recently that he decided to transfer off the vessel for a position on the Resolution.

Mac took the position of second officer on the Resolution with some amount of hesitation, he initially feared that it would take him out of a position where he would be working with people one on one and would put him in a position he didn’t want to be in, that of an administrator. It was only after talking with other officers in the same position on other ships that he found his duties would have more to do with the officers, letting the leading be up to the Commanding and First officers of the vessel.

Mac is a friendly open, charismatic person with a boyish charm and while he may seem slightly naïve at times he has seen a lot in his years.
Mac enjoys the medical field not only because it allows him a chance to help people but top know them and work with them one on one, he would be lost without personal interaction and the opportunity to talk and work with people everyday.
