Personal Details:

Jenessa's parents Andrus and Yaxara Suder, were married in 2352 and settled in the Betazoid capital of Medara. They were scientists and made frequent trips all over Betazed studying the planet's ancient cultures. Jenessa was born on April 30, 2361. Her telepathic and empathic abilities coming from her Betazoid physiology came on early and strong, and in 2369 she was sent to a special school for two years of counseling and training to control her abilities. Growing up around a scientific community made her a very disciplined student and she excelled in studies.

By the time she was 14 she was assisting her parents in much of their scientific work and they encouraged her to consider moving on to advanced studies in a scientific field to pursue her interests. Unfortunately, it was around this time that the Dominion invaded and occupied the planet. Her parents were both killed in the battle and Jenessa was orphaned and on her own. She fell in with a group of resistance fighters and fought the Dominion occupying force during their presence on Betazed.

Once the occupation was over, Jenessa decided to continue her parents' legacy and honor their advice to her before their deaths. She entered Starfleet Academy in 2377 studying to become a science officer. She completed coursework in Biological Sciences, specializing in Biochemistry/Biophysics and Xenobiology. She graduated from the Academy in 2381.

Jenessa attained the rank of Ensign upon graduation and was assigned to the USS Farragut as a science officer.  She was a hard working officer and performed her duties admirably. In 2382 she was promoted to the rank of Junior Grade Lieutenant and she felt ready to take on a new assignment. She applied for the position of Assistant Chief Science Officer on board the USS Resolution.

Personality Profile:

Jenessa is a quiet, reserved, and thoughtful person.  At the same time she is very pleasant to be around with a shy smile that can be turned into a mischievous grin leading to her wild side once she gets into a comfortable social situation.  Her strong telepathic and empathic abilities are available to give her valuable insight into those around her, though sometimes she still has trouble keeping those skills in check and she can be prone to headaches. There are some nights that she still has nightmares from the Dominion occupation of her world and the feelings of terror and uncertainty from everyone around her during those times.
