Personal Details: |
'Commander Qurn was born in 2345 by the Federation Calendar into a relatively Imperial Klingon Family. His father,
couldn't have much to do with him, as Gra'Wa was only 16 when Qurn was born.
Qurn never seemed like the typical Klingon when he was growing up, but that didn’t stop him
from trying to go through the same kind of tasks that other Klingon Boys would go through. His father
watched from afar, and always knew that his son would do something that no other member of the House of
Gra'Wa had ever done, he just didn’t know what that would be. Qurn, in an effort to reach out to Gra'Wa, joined the Officers Academy. Graduating in 2366 he decided to take a little vacation, something that Klingons rarely did. Soon after he was declared MIA. It was almost a year later when he was found, by a Starfleet Vessel quite a few sectors away from the Klingon Border. He had no interest in returning to his family, and he requested to join a Starfleet department. Little did he know that the department they put him in, the Starfleet Marine Corp, would be the best decision he could have ever made. The choice to join Starfleet alienated Qurn from his family, particularly his father, who had thought that one day Qurn would Command the fleet of the House of Gra'Wa. Qurn was attached to the 1st Battalion at Marine Headquarters on Earth and served there until the beginning of the War with the Dominion. He spent the War as part of the 67th Mechanised Infantry Division, on Attachment to the USS Thunder. Whilst only being a small unit, the 67th conducted many small raiding operations that utilised guerrilla tactics to throw the Dominion of balance, and keep them from mounting a major offence. When the war came to a close, he was transferred to the 9th Mobile Infantry Division, aboard the USS Tre’gor. He enjoyed serving there, as they had several mixed race species on board, including two half Klingons. He got on well with those officers. He fit in well with the structure of the crew and he developed an interest in leading his own team. In 2377, Qurn received his 10 Year Service Award, and was subsequently promoted to Captain (SFMC) and thus his responsibilities increased. The promotion came with the role of Executive Officer. By 2379, there was a unit that was calling out for Officers, and he decided to take it. He was sent to the 601st Mobile Infantry Division attached to the USS Resolution, serving under Major Kenny Gray as his Marine CO and Captain David Carey as the Captain of the Resolution. Almost immediately after arriving on the Resolution for duty, the Six-Oh-One were deployed to the surface of Juanitor, with Qurn leading a noise making exercise just outside a combined research and Military base operated by the Breen. Whilst Qurn was 'making noise', his Commanding Officer, Major Kenny Gray, was leading an infiltration team into the facility. When they all returned to the ship, they received the Battle of Juanitor Medal. Starfleet, however now decided that the Resolution was not the place to assign the 601 to, and transferred the unit off ship. They did, however, assign Captain Carey a replacement unit, the 171st Mechanised Infantry Division. The One-Seventy-One was comprised of select people from the six-oh-one, all chosen by Major Gray. It's quite possible that if Gray hadn't chosen Qurn to remain aboard, he'd have been given Command of the Unit. Captain Qurn remained as XO of the 171, until Captain Carey transferred him to Starfleet Security, on Major Gray's recommendation. He received a promotion to Lieutenant Commander, and was announced as Chief of Security/Tactical of the Resolution. |

Personality Profile: |
The fact that he requested to Join the SFMC gives the impression that he’s not your average Klingon, but he still possesses all the traits that have made Klingons the feared race that they are. His extremely short fuse was often a factor that threatened to get himself killed while fighting on the Frontlines during the war with the Dominion. His relationship with his father isn’t the most stable of father-son relationships, however with his fathers recent involvement in Federation affairs, and particularly his operational duties on the Cardassian border have brought them closer than they have been in recent years. A fact that was increased by General Gra'Wa's apparent demise. Qurn took the time to visit his father when he was recovered from his captor. |
