We are looking for some good people to join our affiliation program. Becoming an affiliate can be a beneficial opportunity for all parties involved. It can mean more traffic and more interest in your website and what your website stands for. With all types of programs, though, there are rules and here they are: The website applying for the affiliation program being provided by Star Wars Information Database must be at least 80 percent Star Wars related. We will not accept any website with less than this percentile of Star Wars information included in it's content. How we go about determining the percentile is by pages dedicated to Star Wars. Ex. a website has 4 pages in it. Two are dedicated to music and two are dedicated to Star Wars. Technically this is fine (more to be explained). If the website had 6 pages and 4 were dedicated to music and 2 were dedicated to Star Wars then the website does not meet the requirements. We will also judge the amount of content on the pages. Taking the first example above, if the two pages have very little amount of information, downloads, opinions, etc. (possibly less than the music part of the site), then other sites may be put at a priority higher than the site applying for affiliation. If the website has a considerable amount of information than the website can still be considered even though the site only has fifty percent Star Wars. The website applying for the affiliation program being provided by Star Wars Information Database CANNOT have any offensive, inappropriate, or hateful content. We will not accept any Star Wars website with pornography, deragotory remarks, or racist content. We will definately not accept any site with Star Wars pornography. Humor sites will be considered and accepted depending on the content of the site. The website applying for the affiliation program being provided by Star Wars Information Database must update their website in a timely manner. We will not accept any website that has not updated their site in less than six months. We at Star Wars Information Database understand that many webmasters have a seperate life from Star Wars but we also, as webmasters, understand that we have a duty to give proper information concerning the Star Wars universe in a timely manner. Otherwise what is the point of building an informational website. Websites that do not fall into this condition, and are not limited to, are as follows:
The website applying for the affiliation program being provided by Star Wars Information Database agrees to share, as does SWIDB, with SWIDB and all other affiliated websites, any and all information they find. This includes, but is not limited to, spoilers, rumors, appearances by an actor/actress, magazine articles, internet articles, actor/actress comments about SW, and any other information concerning Star Wars not listed here. The website also agrees, as does SWIDB, to give credit to anyone that shares information with that website. Credit can be given with a simple mention of the webmaster and a link to his site. Failure to do so may be cause for termination of affiliation. The website applying for the affiliation program being provided by Star Wars Information Database agrees to inform SWIDB and all other affiliates of any change in content. Ex. If a website is 100 percent Star Wars but decides to now report on Star Trek as well, it must notify SWIDB so that re-evaluation of the website can be done. If the website still meets the requirements, or if SWIDB webmaster wishes, the website can remain an affiliate. Failure to do so may be cause for termination of affiliation. The website applying for the affiliation program being provided by Star Wars Information Database agrees to display a text or graphical link to SWIDB and all other affiliates somewhere on their site. The link must be placed somewhere where visitors to the site have access to it or in a seperate page. If the link is in a seperate page then the website must announce or make aware to its visitors that it is an affiliate of SWIDB and others and make all links available to them. Failure to do so may be cause for termination of affiliation. The website applying for the affiliation program being provided by Star Wars Information Database agrees to inform SWIDB and all other affiliates of website termination either by webmaster or webhost. Failure to do so may be cause for affiliation bannishment for no more than five years and no less than two years. The website applying for the affiliation program being provided by Star Wars Information Database agrees to keep a presentable layout of their website. We at SWIDB understand that people work and don't have the time upgrade their website. We at SWIDB took four years to improve our website from the unprofessional look we used to have to what we have now. If an affiliate wishes they can ask other offiliates, including SWIDB, for tips on how to improve. All we ask is that the website be upgraded and maintained in a presentable manner. This includes keeping track of any and all links on the site. Please limit broken links to no more than two. The website applying for the affiliation program being provided by Star Wars Information Database agrees to limit the amount of pop-up advertisements/windows to no more than two. A webmaster must understand that not all who view their website are running at the same speed. Some still use a 28k connection speed. Too many pop-up windows may freeze and annoy your visitor causing discouragement and resulting in the loss of that visitor. If a website becomes an affiliate please be sure to copyright your information. Also, please include a copyright and disclaimer notifying your visitors that the Star Wars information included in your website belongs to Lucas and Lucasfilm Ltd. This affiliation is in no way affiliated with the official Star Wars website or it's affiliates. To apply simply click on the submit link and include your site address, name, and e-mail.
