~Garden Pathway~ |

I am at my best when I am outdoors on a beautiful day. Whether on a long walk, working in my garden, at the beach, playing with my dog, on a picnic with my family, soaking up some sun, or resting in the shade, I feel so much more alive, yet so much more at peace than when I'm "locked away, indoors." I am blessed to live in New England where, as Mark Twain once said, "If you don't like the weather...just wait a minute." |
~ My mom has always loved gardening. My dad would dig the plot for her in spring, then smile and wink all season as she'd "go to town"- planting, watching, weeding, tending, waiting- then finally, sowing. We kids hated helping with the work, but we loved to help pick and eat all the good produce. Mom tried her hand at fun things like gourds or tomatillos. Her flower beds were a lovely foretaste of Heaven. I remember plucking rhubarb from the yard and eating stalks of it with salt, or sitting in the pear tree to munch a pear. Now I love gardening~ |
