Let's discuss "Christian" "groups," "sects," "religions," "churches," and "cults." Let's discuss what they teach and why. Let's discuss the people who blindly follow them without questioning.
I am absolutely HORRIFIED at what I've been hearing lately coming out of "Holy Namer" groups whom I once respected. I don't respect a lot of them anymore. Just because they use the names "Yahweh" and "Yahshua Messiah" doesn't mean they are holier and more knowledgeable than everybody else. I use those names, that doesn't make me smarter or more righteous than anyone.
Here is what outrages me about a large number of these people: First, they discredit the majority of New Testament books because they do not like what they say, or it doesn't fit in with their doctrinal LIES! Then, they incorporate any "ancient" writing that they can get there grubby little hands on that surreptitiously confuses and clouds over the reputations of Messiah and his Apostles! They call the Apostle Paul, the Apostle to the Gentiles, they call him a Roman SPY!!! Sent by Rome to steal away the true gospel of Messiah and to replace it with his own! They say the four gospels were part of their plan, that they are fakes! They like the dubious "gospels" of Thomas, Mary and Peter though because they incorporate a lot of flaky Gnostic fantasies. They hate the book of Acts because they hate the Apostle Paul. To replace Acts, they push on people the writings of "Clement" which totally ignores Paul's entire existence!!! I read it. It is a FARCE!
The vicious attacks against the Apostle Paul all stem from their hatred of Yahweh's grace. They want to live in Old Covenant times. Fine. Let them. But, they insist to others that if they do not adhere to the 613 laws and rituals of the Old Covenant (which they themselves could never handle) then they are sinners, they do not love Yahweh and they could never enter into His Kingdom. They believe and teach others that they are saved by works alone! As if man kind could save itself without the work of Messiah and his self sacrifice.
They play two ends against the middle (gullible people are the middle). The two ends are the two Apostles, Paul and James. They conjured up a fictitious event, based on a twisted interpretation of Galations 2, where they say that Paul had a blow out argument with James! How completely idiotic! The account plainly shows that his contention was with the Apostle Peter alone. Peter wasn't perfect. No man has ever been perfect save Messiah alone. He didn't question Peter's doctrines either. He questioned his actions (period)! Peter knew Paul was right about that incident, for Peter spoke admiringly about Paul in one of his letters, calling him a "beloved brother!" Read these verses as Peter himself warns against misinterpreting the Scriptures which include Paul's writings, and how he warns us not to be "led away with the error of the wicked:"
2 Peter 3:15-18
And consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation - as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you,
As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.
You therefore, beloved, since you know this, beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked;
but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and savior Yeshua Messiah. To him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.
Amen! Yes indeed, beware!
