A Way Out…

            The sun rose but Kagome paid it no mind.  “Inuyasha!” the Miko fell to her knees and cried from her very soul.  It wasn’t fair to be put through all this pain and anguish.  Now, once again, Kagome was running for her very life.  Sensing a demon youki near by, Kagome tensed and then, waited for whatever may come.  Whirling into the clearing, Kouga the wolf prince took Kagome in his arms and comforted the weeping Miko.  “What troubles you, Kagome?” Kouga inquired after Kagome calmed.  Kagome told the whole twisted tale of Fujimaro’s plot, Sesshoumaru and Naraku’s reappearance.  Kouga growled at Naraku’s name and said, “So the bastard brought back the mutt…”  Kagome’s shoulders rose higher, “Inuyasha is not himself, Kouga. He has destroyed my village and murdered Kaede. He comes for me now. I must go.”  Kouga grabbed Kagome’s wrist and pulled her back to his chest.  “I swore to protect you, Kagome and even if you won’t mate me, I hold to that promise.”  Kagome sighed.  “Stay just out of my senses then and do not interfere if I confront Inuyasha.”  Kouga nodded and took off to start his vigil.

            Sesshoumaru had tracked down the kitsune scent and was told nothing but the fact that Inuyasha was the one that destroyed the village.  The Demon Lord took flight and began his search for Inuyasha.  It was time for the hanyou to die, again.  But before Sesshoumaru could go two miles, a bird-youkai dropped a scroll into his hands.  It was a missive from the Lord of the Northern Lands, Hisato.  It read something like this,

To my most gracious Ally,

            I have just received word that you have let the Miko go. Have you gone soft, my Lord? I have installed a new adviser for myself in this matter. His name is Naraku. Perhaps you know of him? He wants to examine the Miko for himself.

                                                                        Your still ally, Hisato

            Sesshoumaru growled out in anger.  ‘How dare he! Naraku. Hm…to think that Hisato would order this Sesshoumaru to do his bidding…I must find the Miko.’  Sesshoumaru swerved west in the direction of Kagome’s faint aura.

Hisato’s castle…

            Hisato paced his study, looking intently at the figure garbed in a baboon suit.  “Will he bring the Miko, Naraku?” the Southern Lord asked.  Naraku chuckled, “Only time will tell.”

Ha! Evil cliffie!  Inuyasha: Nice trick with the Ramen…BURP!!! Reality: You seemed to like it… Inuyasha: Feh! So Naraku is trying to trick Sesshoumaru? Ha!
