sTEVe's Schooling...
I spent my kindergarden attending a school called  Taman kencana kindergarden. The most important thing i remember , is my sister tearing up my drawing which i had done.(mayb that is y i am very bad at drawing now).Right From kindergarden,i had the tendency to bunk classes.Almost every day ,about 30 mins before i have to leave for school, i would complain to my mother that i amsuffering from Toothache/Stomachache/Fever,so that i need not go to school.on the other hand,my affinity for mathematics had also begun by then.I would insist that the tooth paste(on the tooth brush),be in straight line.It is not so,then i would raise hell (cry), till somebody sets it right.
Atyer that till standard one, i studied at S.R.J.K (c) Chung Wah .I would go to school along  with my cousin brother (who is 6 yearsolder than me). Supposedly, i have troubled him a lot at school. For instance, once while coming back from school ( my cousin. his friends and myself). I sat down on the road and refused to procees further, unless he bought(my cousin) bought a candy for me! To this day,he recollect this incident, and make sure that i never forget it.During my i standard four, Michelle Loo(classmate) would always get the first ranks in class.I would be ridiculed for letting a girl get the first. Every exam i would do better than previous exam, but still the first place was reserved for her. During the final exam, i was determined to overtake her and studied hard. The results came and ........u know lar--->steve so stupid
After that, i transfer to S.R.J.K(c)Batu 11.this school emphasized the importance of extra-curricular activities. This was (secondary school) and so getting high marks was not easy for me.I don't want study remove.well just try harder. So i spent my time, acquiring friends and playing. My best friend was "Heng Seng Hou".there were tow gals with the same name is our class "Kelly Wong" and "Kelly Tan".Heng and myself would have bets with Kelly Wong's on whicc pair could score more marks in the ensuing exams, quizzes etc.The losing pair had to give the winner Rm0.50 (kinda stupid) so that the winners could buy candy for themselves at expense of the looser.Another incident i would not forget is this: once i slept in the bus while going to school. ( i always have the habit of going to school about 30 mins early so that i can play and take a small talk with my friends (of coz is gal) .I woke up only when the bus reached the terminus.the bus driver ended up giving me a free ride on the bus and i got down at the school bus stop, on the return journey of the bus .after this incident the bus driver and i became chummies and i would ask him to take a particualr bus so that i could board that particualr bus when i go to school. that was when i started memorizing the registration numbers of the Mini Bus Coperation buses. Well, all good things have to come to an end.Since the school timings were not exactly comfortable(1.pm to 6.45pm), and the school was far away it was decided that i should shift to a closer home and i ended up joining S.M.K Cheras Perdana.
Smk Cheras Perdana was the last school which i attended i spent the rest of my schooling life ( form 1 to form 5) here.this is a school famous for producing students who end up joining the IPTA. When i joined the school in form 1 , i immediately found myself at a big disadvantage. One of the subject we had to take was were learning computer. All the others student were old students of the school started learning computers from form 1.I had not even seen a computer before.I barely clear the first exam in computers. Then ond of our compuuter science teachers (Mr.Ganesh) said that he woul saty after school for an hour daily and teach me,an interest in computers. In the next exam, i had almost topped the class and addmitted into computer society ( a great achviement for me). After that i never look back, when it come to computers.I always make surethat i was ahead of class.I found a soul mate Gerard in form 1 ,who shared my interest in computers. (By this time my father hadbrought a PC at home,so that i can experiment with it)We would develop soft ware together and separately, we would learn new languages.(By the time school taught us BASIC, we had learnt BEGINNER as well and by ther time the school taught us BEGINNER we had learnt MEDIUM and stated on HARD). We would go to computer competitions together and collect prizes.I was never a great when  it came to marks (My rank would always hover around 12-17 in a class of 40).My strong subject were Computers,Mathematics, and Science in that order.
Even though i loved to attend History classes (thanks to my teacher Pn.Zarina), History was my weak subject.I would barely manage to get 60% in social studieS.Malay was my anotehr weak subjects. But i was also sad that i had give up Biology.(i preferred Computers to Biology.Thats; why i regret for been choosing science stream.ai~~~
Schooling till 26th was not without it's lighter moments. In our 5th form we had a teacher called Pn.Noorliza (whom we affectionately called Liza). She was as short as she was wide, well almost. She was very fond of our class. Not only was she our class teacher, she also took biology for us. She always would emphasize on moral values etc. So when ever anything happened in class, it would be followed by a lecture on moral values etc. Another favourite topic of her's was ‘pembiakan’. Once we got her started on ‘pembiakan’, there is no stopping her. This would take care of the first two classes of the day. Sometimes when she was taking class, and we got bored the entire class would decide to drink water together (She had told us, that we need not ask permission to drink water during the class)! She was always kind enough not to rub any problems written on board, so that we could copy it down later. When ever we got any problems, we would make sure that they were written in the bottom half of the board. Since she would not rub it, she has to use the top half of the board (remember she is short). It would be fun to see her take great pains to reach the top half of the board and write. During one afternoon, we decided to have some fun at her expense. So we closed one half of the door to the classroom and bolted it from inside. When she came to the class, she just could not enter the class (remember she was fat) since half the door was closed. So she summoned a student to come. The shortest student of the class was sent. This did not serve her purpose. After a few more minutes of fun, another student went and opened the other half of the door so as to let her in. Gerard and myself would go to every computer competition in which our school was invited and would always end up with some prize or the other. When it came to Mathematics competitions, Derek and I would go for the competitions. After some time, the principal would automatically forward any competition circular to us for participation. This way I would end up missing many days of school (though I would get attendence for the same), much to the envy of my friends (who of course would have to loose their attendence if they miss school). One unforgettable incident: The day before a software competition, my computer's floppy disk went konk. The software to be presented the next day was there in my hard disk. That night, we (Gerard and myself) went to his house (his machine had a version which was at least two weeks old) and through out the night we developed the software again and slept only at about 5 a.m. to get up at 6.30 a.m. so that we can be there for the competition at 8 a.m. As expected, our software was a huge success and once again we got the first prize. Let not all this talk about academics fool you into thinking that our class was a very academic one. Infact our class was the most notorious one in school. Let me explain this statement with a couple of instances. Once we had two free periods (the teachers were held up somewhere for something). So our computer science practical came for substitution. We begged her to allow us to go for games during these two periods. She finally gave us a set of problems and told us that when every one of us finishes solving these problems, we could go for games. Our class has three boards. So one girl was selected to write the questions on the board (by this time the teacher had gone). Gerard and myself occupied the other two boards. The answers to the questions were written on the other two boards (every alternate question answered by me, and the other set of alternate questions answered by him). Soon every body finished answering all the questions and we had one and a half periods of games! Due to our notoriety, our class room was next door to the principals office. In another instance, during lunch there was so much of noise in the class room that the Principal got wild. She came to our class only to find that some water had been spilled in the classroom. After she gave a piece of her of her mind, she decided that something ought to be done about the spilt water. She got a bucket full of water, threw it all over the classroom (wetting almost all our bags) and our punishment was to clean it up. Of course, we never cleaned it. The ayah (school servant) came and cleaned it. The net result was that the class after recess was not held (our classroom was being cleaned!). Meanwhile my interest in Mathematics also developed. I had the same teacher for both Mathematics and Computer Science Theory (Pn. Norasah). This meant I had some one to talk to when it came to mixing up these two subects. I took the mathematics exam, in our school,it a whole school competition every student must take part.So i got selected and finally ended up getting the 9th rank. (During form 1 I got the 19th rank). After that I having the school exam. I passed out with flying colours. Just like every cloud has a silver lining (or every silver lining encompasses a black cloud), I did badly in English. I managed only 65% (even though I studied more for English than all other subjects put together).Oh!! yes ..i failed one subject which is add mathsàkinda stupid….. However I got 70% and above in all the other subjects. All this was possible thanks to my two friends, teddy and jacky(all two lived in the same taman)They were studying in diferent schools. However since all of us were going to sitting the same exam paper(SPM), we would study together sometimes till 2 a.m. (Ofcourse this study session would always be followed by a session of computer games).
