| "Most People have no clue how things really are here in the shadows. They get this ridiculous idea that it's all 'Bang-Bang! Shoot'em up' bulldrek that they show on the trid. Balls-to-the-walls, kill this, kill that, ask no questions kinda drek. And to their credit, there's a fair share of that. But, what the trids never show is how it really is. They think people run for glory, some local fame, and getting tail. Chum, I'm here to tell ya--IT AIN'T LIKE THAT! 99.9% live in the shadow because they have to. They have no SIN, no way to make a real, legit living. You know--the white picket fence, 2.3 kids, little dog, blah blah blah. Really chaps my hoop the way people act when they come up to you in a bar, wanting you to hook them up to the shadows.....they have no clue. I guarantee that any one of them would drek their shorts the first time the meet a real, honest-to-ghost runner (trust me, I did). It ain't all glory, it ain't all fame, it ain't all about getting laid, and it ain't about doing the right thing. Sometimes we do the right thing, and it feels nice. But, we do it because it's how we survive. I run--I surf the Matrix--because it's the only way I make my cred.............if I had the chance.......I'd walk away in a tick." ~~Steelflight~~ |

| "If anyone has ever said that Deckers know nothing about strength or combat, this man proves them all wrong with little effort. He's been working in the shadows for who knows how long, and has been through hell and back. Suffering dumpshock ain't a joke, chummer, and believe me recovering from it ain't a day in the park. He's a quick shot too, could hold his own in the street. Lives a lower life style, with a few scars to match. Not much of his past can be found. If you care to do some digging, I suggest letting the notion leave you. It's pointless. He's covered his tracks to well that he doesn't even exist, except in the shadows. He's the only decker on this team, and the only one necessary. Whether it's taking over security, hacking into databases, or recovering and destroying files for a nice fee, he can do it all. He's also a paranoid soul, which comes from his years working in the shadows, and having life frag you over one time too many. It's good to have a paranoid man around though, means he catches things that sometimes others do not see, and he's always playing it cautious. However, you're not a runner worth anything if you don't know that game, or at least not one that will be alive for very much longer. *smiles* Long story |
