My Very Favorite

Dave Matthews Band

Video Moments

What good fan wouldn't love this face? "So Much To Say" offered us a different look at the band. A more playful look. A black and white look. Not only is the song pretty damn fabulous alone, but the video....damn!...the video makes the song awesome. Dave, try not to look so damn stoned! Geeze!

Question: What is better than one Dave Matthews? Give up? TWO DAVE MATTHEWS! Yes, again from the "So Much To Say" video, Dave gives us an insightful glance into his freaky pot-filled mind. Scary. I wish I had a twin that strongly resembled Dave. Oh well.

Do not worry Dave. Your and your awesome band has nothing to worry...except for those evil twins and college roommates. We all still love you and your band, Dave, so don't start freaking out on us. But still...you do look sexy in a pair of psycho white PJ's. Rock on, Dave Matthews Band, Rock on.

"So Much To Say" features a just from one member to another at a very quick pace. This little smile from Leroi was flashed right as the song ends. It goes: Open up my head and *Smile* let me out..." I think its cool b/c you don't really get to see much of leroi in many videos. Nice little smirk though...I am ready for my close up!

"What would you say" is a colorful look into yet another side of Dave Matthews Band. I am not exactly sure where the plot is in this video...but since when do videos come with plots...ay? Also, this video features a much slender Dave. I believe the entire band improves as the videos go on...but its still nice to see raw members of the Dave Matthews Band.

My second very favorite video is "Don't drink The Water". First off...great song! And the video goes right along with it. I like how Steffan is just frolicking through the woods with his unplugged bass. The costumes in this video is also a very nice addition to the full picture of the Dave Matthews Band.

What's a better idea than to have a pause during a great video for a group picture. Alright everyone, smile! Leroi, don't give Dave bunny ears! Like I said before, this video has great costuming and offers a very interesting insight into an already great group.

Another cool part of the "Don't Drink The Water" video is this: Dave Matthews singing from a chandelier. I like how you can clearly see the little safety strap holding onto Dave. It's almost funny...almost. Anyways...what I want to know is where I can get a chandelier that has Dave Matthews attached to it.

Don't drink the water Dave...there is Steffan in a skirt and a half naked Boyd in the water. My least favorite parts of the video is the parts where they show Dave's head and only Dave's head. It looks totally fake. I see the meaning behind it...but it could have been done a little more realistically. But still, over all, this is a great video...but yet, not my very favorite Dave Matthews Band video.

"Stay" is a sweet little love song that I enjoyed the very first time I heard. The video basically consists of the band once again dressed up in funky vests, hats, suits, etc. Also, the video features lots of sweaty children playing in the street. As tacky and as hippyish as the white suits and bowties look, I think the band plays it off very well.

Finally, we reach my very favorite video/song. "Crush" puts the band in a smoky bar looking oh so foxy. I love a man in a suit. And the one thing I like more than a man in a suit is five men in a suit...each a member of the Dave Matthews Band. Also, just like in the "So Much To Say" video, Dave and the guys goes back to the black and white theme.

Towards the end of the video, when we review who is in the band and who is not...we see a very touching moment when Dave puts his hand on the shoulder of Carter. A very touching moment for an awesome video. The mixture of black and white suits, cigarette smoke and martinis gives this video a very laid back and romantic feel.
