Even though Errol had a small part in this movie you are still waiting for the times when he is on the screen. The Munch twins were perfect in their roles and Alan Hale wasn't bad either
When I first saw the Light Brigade I was glued to my seat.
The presence of Errol had that persona about it as though you could reach out and touch it. The camera shots are panoramic and the music by Steiner is really stiring stuff. Errol said that this film was one of the most difficult to make. Also this movie is noted for another reason, that being that after this film was made they outlawed the use of the running wire which Errol said was very cruel to the horses

The Green Light  '37
Thanks to a great friend I have now Have watched The Green Light.I really enjoyed this movie I feel it was good to see Errol in a non period movie . If you have a chance to see it don't miss it.I love the dog as well.
next
What can you say about this film The only thing I can think of is if you didn't know that Errol made this film either you haven't been born yet or you have been living on another planet all your life .
They really picked the right name for this picture. What a body. As the old saying goes he can put his shoes under my bed anytime and a lot of others too.
My favourite part in the movie is when  Joan Blondell crashes through the fence into the estate that Errol has lived on all his life at the time he is falling out of a tree this is a really good comedy all round
Another Dawn  '37
Well I like Another Dawn I like the fact that Errol plays this role with panache. The love triangle is really different. I just wish the critics of the day could see how well he acted when he didn't have a sword in his hand ..

Prince and the Pauper  '37
I like fours a crowd, it comes in to the screwball comedies like the Marx Bros pics. Two couples and a lot of inuendos go into this one, not only do you have to watch a comedy of this genre but also listen or you may miss out on a lot.

The Sisters   '38
I don't really like the Sisters. I feel it is because Errol plays a part of a real nothing type character with no decent qualities. I always feel, when Errol and Bette are on the screen, there is a reaction between these two. As in real life they hated each other.
I love westerns good versus evil.In this one Errol is the man to clean up the town and Bruce Cabbot is the man to stop him
sort of poetic as years later Errol found out what a good friend he was not.The bar room brawl is ex. one of the best ever staged.
Dodge City  '39
Dawn patrol is a really fine pic the strength  the air men get from each other to go out each day shows  through in every scene. One scene I really like is when Niven's brother comes in and EF has to send him up with the rest knowing what will be his fate. Even when Niven pleads with him top entertainment

The private lives of Elizabeth and Essex aka Elizabeth the Queen
Well after all that I can honestly say that I have the same feelings for this one as in the sisters. The dislike between Davis and Errol comes over on the screen . Even though Errol does look quite dashing as the cad.
The death scene is good as he knows he must die as he would choose war above peace.

Gossip  An interesting sidelight to the bitter blending of Flynn and Davis occured in 1938 after completion of the sisters . Warners offered inderpendant producer David O Selznic full financing for his Gone with the wind and 25per cent of the profits if he would use Errol and Davis as Rhett and Scarlett in addition to de Havilland as Melanie. According to Davis and J L Warner , Davis refused to have any part of a package involving Errol, although she had always craved the role.
