Jason is doing benchpresses in the Youth Centre, while Kimberly practices her gymnastics on the balance beam. Ernie is counting for Jason, who is trying to do 1,010 and break a pre-existing record. Kim walks over and talks to Ernie, who promptly loses count. Jason tries again, and makes it to 1,009 before being accidently interrupted by Zac.
Meanwhile, Rita has sent her King Sphinx monster and a troop of putties into the park. Jason, Kim and Zac morph and teleport into the park, where (after Zac and Kim beat up the putties as well as Baboo and Squatt) King Sphinx teleports them back to the Youth Centre and transports Jason to the desert, where he fights him alone. Kim and Zac find Billy and Trini, and they all teleport into the Command Centre, where Zorodn helps them create the Power Crystals, which they send to Jason (because Rita has cut off teleportation to the area).
Jason finds the Power Crystals, allowing the others to arrive on the scene. Goldar, too, has shown up, and when he and King Sphinx grow, the Power Rangers call out the Megazord. There is an awesome zord battle between Goldar, King Sphinx and the Megazord, but before too long, King Sphinx is destroyed and Goldar retreats, leaving the Rangers victorious.
Back at the Youth Centre, Jason finally manages 1,010 benchpresses. Ernie wheels in a cake (which reads 'Happy Birthday Mom' - all he could get at the last minute) and everyone celebrates.
An awesome episode that really, really symbolises why I love Power Rangers so much. Some really cool fight scenes, a terrific climactic zord battle - and not to mention, it was a Jason episode. Plus, this episode gets extra points for when Zac got to beat up Squatt and Baboo in the park - something I've been waiting for for a long time :-).
Not the best line, but the best conversation in this episode was the early one between Baboo, Squatt and Rita. This really had me giggling until the ad break, in particular, the rapid-fire delivery of, "Why not send Squatt and I?" "Forget it." "Yes ma'am".
