Each song rated from 1-10 (only songs written by Steinman). These are just my opinions, feel free to disagree! Bonnie Tyler Faster than the Speed of Night I'm not crazy about Bonnie's voice but sometimes I really like the way she sings. There's two Steinman songs on this album. Total Eclipse of the Heart is a masterpiece. Actually it's a little wonder that it was such a big hit because it's not a simple song at all. Faster than the Speed of Night is the one and only Steinman song that makes me feel almost nothing. There's also some wild choices for cover versions on this album. Have You Ever Seen the Rain may be even better than the original CCR version. |

Bonnie Tyler Free Spirit I used to prefer the Air Supply version of Making Love but one day it happened to me. I was listening to Bonnie's version and realized that it's one of the best things Jim Steinman has ever done. The way it starts with just the opera sample and piano, and then grows into something huge. The disco version of 2/3 isn’t bad, just quite useless. |
