Slam Dunk Merchandise:
A lot of SD items out there right now are bootlegs. Yuo can find figurines ( w/ wrong colors since whoever did the painting didn't know about the series; Akagi and ryota as Caucasians?!) just about anywhere. Most of the good stuff are available online, but not regularly, they still have to be hunted down. I found a multitude of SD items online:
- "Datebook"- licensed by Banpresto, this is filofax type binderette, it contains ID cards of the shohoku starting five, stats, stickers, calendars, it also contains basketball basicsand even teaches you to record ststistic.
- Artbook- This hard cover book contains originsl art of the SD characters.Illustrationare not from the anime but from the manga.
- Filmbook- It's basedon the anime and there are tons of pictures and sreencaps. Foldout posters included.
- Plush Dolls- These stuffed toys are usually SD (super deformed/chibi characters) and aren't really for sale, you have to win them by playing UFO catcher machines in japan.for those who don't know, these are the games where you feed the machine money, control a hook and try to catch a toy of your choice w/ in a specific time frame.
- Video Games-There's SD video games for several game console such as the Nintendo Game Boy, Nintendo Super Famicom, Sega Saturn and Sega Game Gear. Type of the game play varies but so far, i have only seen the suoer Famicom one.
- Doujinshi- there are lots of these on the net, but these are fanmade and most of them are yaoi (noy-boy relationship).
- Shitajiki- there are a whole lot of these available as well, but i'm not totally sure if they are all licensed.
- CD Soundtrack -there are so many of them that i don't know for sure just how many there are. Just when you thought you have bought them all, you suddenly find another one!
- Poster / Wallscrolls - Be careful w/ these, because there are more bootlegs than originals! i managed to get my hands on promotional posters for the manga and a HUGE wallscroll that measures over six feet!
