Smackdown (Nov 23rd 2000) Smackdown! kicks off this week from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Eddie Guerrero Vs. "The One" Billy Gunn (Intercontinental Championship) : Eddie Guerrero makes his way to ringside. He gets on the mic and addresses Billy Gunn. He says that he knows that Billy wants a shot at the Intercontinental Title, so he calls him out. Eddie slides out of the ring during Billy's introduction to start off the match. Billy takes Eddie to the outside guard railing and smashes Guerrero across it head first, then flops him, throat-first across the fan barricade. Bell rings and rope to rope goes Eddie, elbow drops him to the ground, and another irish whip. Gunn connects with a huge back body drop. Whip again, Billy misses a clothesline, back around come the two combatants and they collide in the center of the ring. Eddie quickly goes outside and grabs the belt, but is kicked by Gunn. However just as quickly, Eddie ducks a clothesline and hits a DDT, then flops on Gunn for a count of two. Guerrero climbs the ropes, and hits the big Frogsplash for only a two count. Now Eddie takes Billy to the corner and a blatant foot choke, which calls for a break. Gunn gains the upper hand now with a huge powerslam and a two count. the two are up and in the center of the ring and they exchange blows. Eddie whipped to the ropes and a clothesline from Gunn, another whip, and a tilt-a-whirl slam for another two count. Eddie whipped into the corner, Gunn with a Stinger Splash, sets up the Jackhammer, and connects. Gunn calls for the Fameasser, he connects, the pin..one, two, and a kick out. Eddie slowly gets up near the ropes, he is doubled over. Billy sees an opening and goes for another Fameasser, but Guerrero moves and Billy ends up straddling the top ropes. Eddie climbs to the top rope, leaps for a clothesline, caught in mid air in some sort of sleeper hold, Gunn drops Eddie to the floor with a new maneuver and gets the pinfall to become new Intercontinental Champion. Backstage, Mick Foley is with Debra, all dressed up in Thanksgiving garb. Jim Ross offers them some of his special chicken. Foley says that later tonight, WWF superstars will offer their own personal recipes for fans to try. William Regal / Rock Segment William Regal makes his way to the ring and gets on the mic. He extends his greetings to all of the citizens of Ft. Lauderdale. Regal says that Thanksgiving represents everything that is wrong with America. He goes on to describe that Thanksgiving started when several pilgrims who were kicked out of Britain, broke bread with native Americans, slaughtered Turkeys and had a merry old time. Regal says that it is all a load of bloody rubbish. He says that today thanksgiving is a bunch of overweight, dysfunctional families sitting on their bums watching cartoon balloons parade across their city streets on television. William says that there are so many things wrong with the Thanksgiving Dinner. He goes on to describe the problems, and is interrupted by The Rock. He tells Regal that he is nothing than a suit wearing bug eyed cockamamie punk ass. He tells Regal that all the Rock's fans would give much thanks if the Rock kicked Regal's candy bum all over the ring. Rock then challenged Regal to a match. After the match, The Rock said to Regal that he'd take a turkey, eat it all except for a drumstick, wash it off, and turn it sideways and.... you know. In the cafeteria, Al Snow told Mick and Debra that he will bring his "Al Snow peas" to Mick's family. Hardcore Holly and Crash Holly Vs. Test and Albert (Hardcore Rules) In the cafeteria, we see The Kat bring Mick and Debra her own beef jerky. Hardcore Holly and Crash Holly Vs. Test and Albert (Hardcore Tag Team Match) : Match begins with an all out brawl between the four combatants. Into the match, Albert hits a huge face plant on Crash. The match soon takes to the outside of the ring where Albert whips Hardcore with a belt, while inside Crash its a swinging DDT onto a trash can lid on Test, he leaps to the outside apron and hits a swinging hurricarada for a two count. Outside now, Albert sprays a fire extinguisher at Hardcore and then slips inside the ring. He takes a trash can lid to Crash's face, then Test follows with a big boot for the pinfall and the victory for T&APA. After the match Hardcore Holly clocks Test with a trash can lid. In the cafeteria, Too Cool brings Mick and Debra their Too Cool sweet potato pie. Val Venis Vs. K-Quik Val Venis and Steven Richards come to the ring. Val gets on the mic and says that instead of all of these people being with their families on Thanksgiving they are watching this perverse program. Val then says that he wants everyone to say not to the song "Get Rowdy" and say yes to getting morality. At that Roaddogg and K-Quik hit the ring, singing Get Rowdy. K-Quik Vs. Val Venis: Match starts off quickly, Quik hits a huge huracanrana, and then sends Val outside, and connects with a suicide dive. Val takes charge once they hit the outside and he flops Quik across the barricade throat first. Back in the ring Quik hits a back body drop and then whips Val into the corner, then connects with a dropkick to the face. Val hits a clothesline and goes for a pin in the corner, using the ropes for leverage, but the ref catches Val and stops counting. After the break, Quik tries a rollup for a two count. Back to fighting, Val with the upper hand, he climbs the ropes and Quik interrupts, and climbs, hitting a top rope Frankensteiner. At that Bull Buchanan and the Goodfather attack Roaddogg, distracting Quik. Val tries a slam, Quik floats over, and hits a rollup, but there is no ref to count, he is distracted by the occurrences outside the ring. At this, Richards hits the ring and DDTs Quik, allowing Venis to make the pinfall and take the victory. Backstage, WWF superstars are seen eating Thanksgiving dinner, Funaki brings Kung-Pow Chicken. Mick says its not Thanksgiving until you get chicken, just like its not Christmas until u get a candy cane. Funaki thinks he meant Kane and got scared, and ran away. Kurt Angle / Undertaker Segment Kurt Angle makes his way to the ring, wearing a neck brace. He gets on the mic and says that believe it or not, he is a little naive, because when he successfully defended his title against the Undertaker at Survivor Series, he thought that would be the end of it. Kurt said that his opponents in high school , college, or the Olympics would shake Kurt's hand after a match and say nice match, it was a pleasure to be in the ring with you. Kurt goes on to say that The Undertaker's powerbombing of Eric Angle was deplorable. Kurt says that that little piece of business just earned Undertaker, the sore loser of the year award. Angle also says that, last week on Raw, during Eric Angle's moment in the sun, The Undertaker had to come down and ruin it. Kurt says that unlike Taker, he loves his brother and didn't set his brother's face on fire. Angle says that he finally gets it, that Undertaker is jealous, and asks where his gold medals are. He says that he has a spiffy little bike, and no gold medals, and will never get the ultimate gold medal, the WWF Title. Undertaker's music hits and he makes his way to the ring. Undertaker closes in on Angle and starts to pummel him, Edge and Christian run down to the ring to try and help Angle, but they get clobbered. Angle then gets up and takes out Taker by the legs, allowing Edge, Christian, and Angle to beat on the Undertaker. However, Taker is not phased and fights back to clear the ring. Taker stands in the middle of the ring as the segment concludes, while Edge, Christian, and Angle backpedal up the ramp. Backstage, William Regal is shown making his way to the ring, The Rock is then shown making his way to the ring as well. The Rock Vs. William Regal (non title match) William Regal (c) Vs. The Rock (non title match) : Regal makes his way to the ring. The Rock makes his way to the ring second, to the typical crowd pop. We have a bell and the two circle the center of the ring. Rock with a quick kick and an irish whip into a back elbow. Rock whipped into the corner, rebounds out with a huge clothesline. Rikishi slowly makes his way to the top of the ramp, distracting The Rock. William Regal takes the upper hand with a few blows to the face and body. Then Rock whips Regal rope to rope, and sends him outside the ring. Regal whips Rock into the ring post and clotheslines him over the fan barricade. They battle into the crowd, for a bit and then come back to ringside. Rock takes a few shots until he is poked in the eyes. Regal picks up Jerry Lawler's chair and goes to clock The Rock, who ducks, and Regal gets nothing but post. Back in the ring now, Regal tries a pinfall but only two. Regal with an irish whip, Rock explodes off the ropes with a flying clothesline. Regal fights back with a back suplex and a two count immediately following. Rikishi is still looking on from the ramp. Rock with a big punch, but Regal ducks and decks Rock, then goes for the pin, but only two again. Rock sends Regal to the ropes, kick, snap DDT. Another Irish whip, and a huge belly to belly off the rope, alla Ken Shamrock. Rock tries yet another whip to the ropes, but Regal slides underneath the arm and hits a face drop and tries a pinfall using the ropes but only two. The Rock is up, he knocks down Regal and puts him in the Sharpshooter, Regal immediately taps out. Rock climbs the ropes and has a stare down with Rikishi and tells him to bring it. Rikishi backs off and goes backstage. As the Rock is about to leave, he notices that William Regal is up and working the crowd, saying that he is still European Champion. Rock comes behind Regal, and when he turns around, hits Rockbottom, and departs from ringside. Tazz Vs. Raven Tazz Vs. Raven : Raven looks pumped up for the match ,he runs down to ringside and leaps onto the apron, where he is promptly knocked off by Tazz. The match takes to the inside of the ring, where Tazz tries to put on the TazzMission right away but cannot. Tazz whips Raven, reversed, clothesline by Raven. Raven hits a knee lift and a few punches on the mat. Tazz battles up to his feet and throws Raven to the mat by his hair. Tazz taunts Raven, telling him to fight back. Nice side release suplex by Tazz. He follows up by throwing Raven in the corner and throwing a few punches. Raven reverses and throws a few of his own, he follows with a bulldog. Pace remains quick here. Tazz whips Raven, who hangs on and tries to reverse into an Evenflow, but Tazz reverses that into a Northern Lights suplex. Raven then hits the ropes, comes back to Tazz and hits the Evenflow to take the victory. Raven seems hysterical, screaming, "What about Raven!" Backstage, Mick Foley thanks The Dudleys for coming to dinner. D-Von tells Mick that he brought The Dudley Boyz Dumplings straight from Dudleyville. Mick takes Buh Buh's specs and says.. "D-Von, get the dumplings!" Mick gets a disapproving look from The Dudley's and he laughs it off. Trish Stratus Vs. Molly Holly Backstage, Eddie Guerrero is talking to Chris Benoit. Benoit tells him that he will get back the Intercontinental Belt. Lillian Garcia tries to get an interview with Eddie. Benoit takes the mic and asks her what she was going to ask Eddie. He asks if she was going to ask himself how it felt like to lose to Austin on Monday night. Benoit gets pissed and says that he is still the best wrestler in the business and Austin will have to prove him wrong. Trish Stratus Vs. Molly Holly : Molly makes her way to the ring with Trish already waiting. The two charge each other to start things off. Back armbar by Trish. Takedown by Molly into an armbar. Trish tries to get out, but cannot. Molly twists the arm some more. Fast pace now, and Holly whips Trish to the ropes and a arm drag. Molly hits the ropes and charges Trish, but Trish falls down and pulls down the top rope, making Molly fall to the outside. Match goes back inside and Trish hits a nice vertical suplex and a two count. Trish sits on the top rope and chokes out Molly Holly, lifting her off the ground. She's does so twice and then hits a bulldog followed by a two count. Trish slams Molly down, climbs the ropes but is caught and slammed off the ropes. Molly with a big chop, and another, Irish whip and a kick by Molly. Molly with a Northern Lights suplex and a bridge for a two count. Molly climbs the ropes, but is caught by Trish, Trish climbs the ropes, trying a superplex. Blocked, Trish is shoved off the ropes. Trish is standing, Molly hits a forward somersault maneuver, landing in a pinning position, sitting on the chest of Trish Stratus, for the three count. Chris Jericho and Steve Austin Vs. Chris Benoit and Kane Kane and Chris Benoit Vs. Steve Austin and Chris Jericho : Kane is introduced followed by Benoit. Then Chris Jericho is introduced, followed by Stonecold. Austin works the crowd as usual, taking to each rope, then he goes and talks something over with Jericho. Jericho and Benoit start things off. They lock up and break. Benoit with a whip, Jericho reverses, Jericho bounces off the ropes into Benoit with an elbow. Jericho with a few kicks on a fallen Benoit. Arm bar on Benoit, and he tags in Austin. They size each other up and Benoit gets a kick in on Austin, whip to the ropes for Benoit. Austin reverses with some kicks. Another whip and Benoit hits a drop toe hold. Austin with an arm wringer and tries a clothesline, but Benoit ducks it and the pace slows as they break. Lock up, Benoit slaps a side headlock on Austin. Benoit into the ropes now, shoulder block on Austin knocking him down. Still rope to rope, Austin with a spinebuster and a two count. Armwringer and an elbow lock but Austin who is backed into enemy territory. Kane tagged in and he takes it to Austin early. Irish whip tries a kick, caught by Austin and he drops three elbows on the leg of Kane and goes into the leg grapevine. Kane get out of the hole by wrapping his free leg around Austin's head and kicking. Kane into the ropes, Austin charges and a Thesz press and a few punches. Benoit tries to make the save, Austin sends him outside the ring and tags Jericho. Kane with some punches sin the corner, irish whip to the opposite corner, tries an atomic drop, but Jericho floats over and kicks the leg. Jericho goes for a knew twist but Kane pushes Jericho out of the ring with his free leg. Benoit flings Jericho back inside and is tagged in. Jericho in the enemy corner and a few big chops deployed by Benoit. Big side suplex by Benoit, slowing the pace. Kane tagged in now. Austin eager to get in the ring. Jericho to the rope, leaps onto Kane and caught in mid air, then flung to the mat. Blind tag made to Austin but the ref did not see it. Benoit in, slams Jericho down, Kane perched on the ropes waiting for Jericho, who gets up and walks toward Kane, who hits a flying clothesline and tries a pinfall, but Austin pulls Kane off. Benoit in, Jericho crawls to Austin makes the tag but ref did not see it so it is not allowed. Austin pushes past the ref and beats on Kane, then stuns the referee, Kane rolls out of the ring. Austin stuns Benoit. Kane back inside the ring, he slaps a choke on Austin, preparing the Chokeslam, but Jericho flies in with a missile dropkick onto Kane, phasing him. Austin hits a stunner on Kane and leaves the ring, backpedaling up the ramp. Jericho still in the ring, hits a Lionsault on Kane as Smackdown goes off the air. |
