BRAUNINGS' BYTES

Stephen & Sandra Brauning & family, serving with

Christian Reformed World Missions

in the Dominican Republic

Update: April 25, 2007

Grace to you and peace, our prayer partners, supporters, friends and family, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

God’s greeting gives such comfort.  “Grace to you and peace”.   Sometimes here in the D.R. we just wish for a little peace and quiet, what with all the ambient noise – loud music and motorcycles, dogs and chickens, horns blaring, and so forth.  But God offers us His grace and peace, which is all we really need: the grace to freely pardon all our sins and give us the gift of eternal life; and the peace of His presence and the assurance that He will never leave.  Thanks be to God for these indescribable gifts!

We also thank the Lord for all of you, for your prayers, support, encouragement and love.   These are part of the peace of God in our lives.

The big project around here these days is the National Ministry Center office block.   Many people have been working hard to bring this vision to reality, but there is still much to do.  We are looking for more volunteers, donations, and service teams to complete this project, which will bring the various ministries of the Christian Reformed family under one roof.  Please contact us if interested in participating.

Our local church is also in the middle of a construction project: putting on a second floor for use as a youth outreach center.  It will offer activities like games and computer terminals, as well as counseling, Bible studies, and prayer.  Pray for pastor Domingo, the elders and the youth leadership, as we develop this outreach together.

And while we’re on construction, there’s also the San Pedro Regional Ministry Center project in Consuelo.  I have worked closely with the local church leadership on this project.  They are hoping to get the second floor roof on soon, although the funds are still lacking.  Pray with us for the funding and if  you are interested in participating, contact us.

On all three of these projects, I contribute with electrical layout and installation.  It is one way I use my skills for the Kingdom.

Thanks again for being there for us.

Blessings in Christ.
