MADRID |
I lived and worked in Madrid from September 2000 to July 2001 at International House Serrano. |
Madrid is an exciting place to live. The nightlife is amazing, and there is a wide
variety of cultural activities to indulge in. It's a fairly small city so it's easy to get around and public transport is very good. It is quite expensive, and working as a TEFL teacher the wages are pitiful, so it was difficult for us to make ends meet. Finding a place to live is a nightmare as there is a severe shortage of affordable accommodation for rent, so we were all traumatised by the time we finally found places! All in all an interesting year, lots of new friends and we had plenty of fun. |

One very important thing which happened while I was in Madrid was that I got married - in Birmingham! |
